Amazing! Dr. Roberts is by far the best. From the consultation, through the surgery, to the follow up appointments Dr. Roberts has been very supportive, informative, and caring throughout the entire process. He has changed my life and I couldn't be happier.

Both surgeries were a success. I couldn't believe the improvement in my vision after the first. The second surgery was even easier, more comfortable, and it improved my vision even more!  I chose to get the corrective lenses, even though insurance doesn't cover them.  Dr. Roberts gave me a generous discount on the lenses, and I found out HOW generous it was when I compared prices with a friend at work who had just had it done.
Dr. Roberts is warm, friendly, patient and supportive throughout the procedure.  He really loves cataract surgery because it enables him to give his patients such great vision, and he seems to get as much a thrill out of it as I did.  He is easy to talk to and accessible for questions and concerns.  His office staff is, for the most part, friendly and welcoming - some more than others, but most of the ladies there are very friendly.  There were a few younger ones there who seemed more intent on their job than the patient, but no one was ever rude. The woman in charge of scheduling and billing is wonderful!
I am thrilled with my new vision, and I will be seeing Dr. Roberts on a regular basis as my opthamologist.

Things went well. My insurance plan stood out the most about this provider. They accepted my insurance plan and also they had a good rating on Angie's List. It is a long wait. You get what you pay for. They were pretty available. It just was a matter of waiting once you got there. The office environment was not un-nice but it was just really crowded and not enough speed. We waited for about an hour.

As occurred in my previous appointments, I was taken back to the examination area one hour after my appointed time.  When I inquired how long I would have to wait in the examining area I was told that it would be another 30 minutes minimum. I decided to leave the office due the pattern of chronic tardiness and disregard for staying on schedule..  In addition

 to a pattern of having to wait so long, it is my opinion that the doctor is a very poor communicator (poor listener for a start!). As another reviewer indicated the doctor does not seem to listen carefully; instead he seems to have scripted, preconceived answers.

Aside from the fact that the staff did not have a clue about what my insurance would actually cover, Dr. Roberts does not listen. He makes assumptions and decisions based on his biased and pompous opinion and doesn't hear what the patient needs or desires are.

Dr. Roberts was friendly, professional and very informative. He explained all the steps in the exam and was able to provide me with the proper prescription for my new eye glasses. Dr. Roberts checked the overall health of my eyes which only an ophthalmologist can do he is a real doctor not just someone that is peddling eye glasses. The office was clean and the staff was professional. I would recommend Shady Grove Ophthalmology and will continue to do regular eye exams in the future.

Everything went fine; as expected. My vision is 20/20 now and I haven't had any recurrent problems. They're very helpful. Whatever anybody is going in there for I'm sure wouldn't be a problem!

I was e-mailed a GroupOn from a co-worker which contained a 1/2 price reduction for LASIK.  Of course I was skeptical as I had never used GroupOn and also questioning why an Ophthalmologist would perform LASIK for 1/2 the price.  I decided to call and inquire about the procedure.  The receptionist responded to all of my questions and was not pushy.  After careful consideration, I set up an appointment for January 4, 2013.  
I arrived early for my appointment on January 4 and found the Office atmosphere clean and pleasant.  Dr. Roberts's assistant greeted us and within 5 minutes, I was completing the usual paperwork.  Within ~30 minutes, I was receiving my screening to determine if was a candidate for LASIK.  Dr. Roberts's staff continued to answer all of my questions as I was concerned about the procedure,  No pain, quick procedure, up-to-date latest software.....I was put at ease as time went by.  
Before I knew it, I was speaking with Dr. Roberts about my options, LASIK or PRK, and made a decision to proceed with LASIK. 
The procedure was painless and quick: 18 seconds for one eye and 19 seconds for the other.  Immediately, I was able to start making out shapes, and large alphabets.  Dr. Roberts had me come in the next morning for a follow-up visit and I was able to read 20/20 perfectly.     
Dr. Roberts and his staff were magnificent.  He and his staff are professional and will ensure your eye care needs are taken care of in regards to LASIK needs.  His price is affordable and is the exact procedure as other Ophthalmologist in the DC Metro area.  I have spoken with co-workers who have had this procedure completed by other Ophthalmologists within the area and all stories are the exact same.  He does not advertise and has low overhead which reduces his cost for LASIK.  
I would highly recommend Dr. Roberts for LASIK and would recommend calling or visiting his Office for a consultation.
