Jon provided outstanding customer service -- was extremely helpful, responded quickly to my e-mails, phone calls, etc. The paint crew was on time, very organized, and cleaned up everything. My walls and trim look beautiful. I definitely would use their service again.

Klappenberger & Son painted and repaired the exterior of our townhouse. The company was very responsive, professional and finished the work on time. The initial estimate was accurate. Few minor items were identified during the final walk through and were taken care of immediately. They submitted the final bill after all the work was completed and we were satisfied. Definitely recommend, would hire them again.

I recently purchased an older house and hired Klappenberger with the instructions that I wanted my house to feel like it was fresh and new, but retain the colonial charm of the house. They far exceeded my expectations on making it feel that way, and the quality of the work is fantastic. I worked with Alex, the owner, to scope the project that included removing wallpaper, patching and painting every interior wall, paint all baseboards / doors / molding, painting and patching all ceilings, build a mud room (carpentry), knock down a couple of walls and relocate closets and doors, build a custom closet, replace all door handles and hardware throughout the house, replace all light fixtures and chandeliers, replace all light switches / light sockets / and related wall plates, paint several cabinets and vanities, and reglaze bath tubs. The project was very large but the crew worked to meet my deadlines, and the craftsmanship was outstanding. The crew had a good division of labor and skill sets to do everything I needed, and they were run very efficiently by both Alex and Wilson the on-site project manager. I could not give a higher recommendation for Klappenberger, and will definitely use them again.

Very strange experience. After I returned the proposal, I did not hear from them for weeks. I called them twice to ask when the job would be scheduled. I got the impression they were waiting for a day when there was no rain in the forecast. OK, that made sense since this was an exterior job. Then, they called one morning to say they were on their way. The forecast for that day was thunderstorms. Sure enough, it poured in the middle of the job. To their credit, they came back after the rain stopped and repainted where needed. The work they did looks OK and the price was great. But the scheduling and customer service experience was strange.

Painters were friendly, busy, etc

I'm very happy with the paint job that has been done in my Livingroom, Dinning room and two bedrooms.

They were efficient on right on cost.

Excellent job which included painting of an entire three-bedroom condo with popcorn cathedral ceilings. Proposal was extremely detailed. Finished ahead of schedule for stated proposal amount. Had one small complaint which they came back and fixed. The project manager bought all new switch plates and outlet covers (which we paid for) and installed them himself, free of charge. Very pleased with the result and I would certainly hire them again.

This company is a class act from beginning to the end. The estimate for the job was the first indication that this was a well greased organization as the details and specifics that were provided for us to view (pictures and measurements) of the entire interior of our home was provided by the lead estimator, Jon, who was aces. The assistance they provided in selecting the appropriate colores were very applicable. The painting crew was neat, attentive, and very professional. We have lived in our home 30 plus years and have had numerous contractors flow in and out for various jobs, including painting. However, Klappenberger and Son was above and beyond all the others. They are tops and I cannot say enough to HIGHLY recommend them. I promise you that you that you will be very pleased with their work. I cannot say enough good things about this company, and I am not a relative or somebody's mother in the company! We are so happy with the beautiful, thorough painting and repair job that the crew did on the exterior of our home. We have had painting companies do our house before, but they had never done the very necessary prep work that is so very important before painting. They power washed the house and did sanding and repairs of the wood that needed some work before they even started to pain, and that work was first rate. And the painting was immaculate. My husband painted houses in his summers off from college so he is very picky....He could not find one miss or mistake. Our house looked nice before but now it looks beautiful! Very importantly also was just how nice the crew was to have around. They obviously like each other and had such a positive vibe going during the day. They were polite and so responsive to my every question. I told Jon the estimator , who is also so nice and knowledgeable, that I actually regretted seeing them leave at the end of the project. Lastly, the crew did not leave a trace that they were here except for a lovely freshly painted house! Sorry this is so long, but I think this is a terrific company and we are so glad that we hired them.

The estimator from from Klappenberger & son, Jon Anderson, came to give me an estimate for tackling my exterior house painting job. His thoroughness and professionalism impressed me so, even though the bid was on the high side, I decided to go with Klappenberger & son because I felt they would follow through on what they promised. The crew (and later two crews) assigned to the job was excellent, starting on time, and doing top-notch work in water blasting, scrapping, priming, and then painting the house--even the idiosyncratic trim scheme was followed through well. During the time the work was being done, neighbors, walking by, commented on how good a job the crew was doing. The whole job was finished in a timely manner, even with a couple of additional work requests. I can confidently recommend Klappenberger & son to others, who may be looking for reliable, professional painting projects. One caveat, which is probably true for all exterior house painting, is to be ready for some damage to plants right next to the sides that will be painted at lower-than-ladder level, as the painters have to access and walk about in that area.

I would like to highly recommend Klappenberger. After several estimates from other painting companies, I decided to hire this painting group. I had both exterior and interior painting done for my large Potomac house. This group did a beautiful job. My house was big and the painting took 1.5 months to successfully complete. I would like to make a special recommendation for the estimator /project manager, Jon, who made sure that everything was done my satisfaction. Jon is very conscientious and dedicated to keeping the painters on track. The estimate was very detailed and easy to understand. My job was very complex. It required scheduling to permit different jobs to be done such as hard wood floor. refinishing etc. The painting work was done very well. This is some of the best prep work I have ever seen! I also needed carpentry work, and assorted exterior decking replaced. The work was done nicely. So, if you need an interior or exterior paint job well done -contact Klappenberger!

From the start of the project, from estimate to completion of painting the house, employees arrived on time as scheduled. Communication with the crew was always pleasant, and they looked for ways to improve our experience, going beyond what was contracted. The quality of the work was excellent, not only the painting but the carpentry work performed on trim areas around our garage. I would recommend this crew without any hesitation.

This company provided my husband and I with an outstanding experience from the visit by the estimator to "job done". I have been trying to get my husband to stop getting on ladders and doing "dangerous" things for a man his age for some time -- the one thing holding him back was fear of finding a company to provide quality work. That fear is now gone. Klappenberger and Son has proven to us that quality work by great people at a reasonable price is still available. We really cannot say enough good things about the young man, Herbert Rivas, who did the work. He was terrific, personable, able, and experienced in his profession.

quick works

The firm did what they said they would well, from the estimator to the painters. I thought the charge for carpentry supplies seemed a little high--even though the charges for the work were reasonable-- and would have appreciated an explanation of that during the work. However, the carpentry was excellent, as was the painting. I recommend this firm.
