I placed an order for two standing spray arrangements for my sister's funeral via online throughhttp://AvasFlowers.com, and they sent their design specs to Rockville Florist. I paid a total of almost $350.00 for two premium standing sprays and they were the puniest sprays I'd ever seen for the cost. Additionally, the ribbons that cost $9.99 were displayed as purple and at least 3-4 inches wide with large letters. They sent me an inch wide ribbon that was white and written in gold, so barely readable. When I called to complain, the sales clerk, Tina was unfriendly, kurt, and told me they designed based on the specs that FTD gave them and that I should file a complaint with FTD. But she didn't even have a phone number for FTD, so I had to google it and upon reaching an agent, they couldn't find my order. I immediately called Rockville Florist back at 301-294-9330 and I guess they have caller ID, because my calls went unanswered several times. Even FTD tried to call, and ignored their phone calls. It turns out that the only order FTD found under my phone number and name, was an arrangement that I sent to my dying sister on February 1st, for her birthday. Coincidentally, those arrangements were puny as well and came from Rockville Florist. The roses were small and wilted with no greenery. When I called FTD to complain, they immediately rectified the situation by sending another arrangement which turned out beautiful. Going back to the recent problem...Tina at Rockville Florist told me that maybe the other sprays were bigger because they paid more money, and why don't I go and ask those people how much money they spent? TACKY? Well, as a Korean myself, I know how many Korean businesses operate, and I told her that I guess since the florist is owned by a Korean, that my complaint will go unresolved because that is exactly how Koreans treat customers. It turns out that I was correct. No one has contact me with an apology since Monday, 4/23! Thank you Rockville Florist for making my sister's memorial service worse than it should have been. You all should be ashamed of yourselves to be in such a business. For those who care about NOT getting ripped off and being treated as a paying customer, go with FTD, and NOT AVAS Flowers or Rockville Florist!
Description of Work: I just joined Angie's List, which is why this review is a year old, but still very important to me to get the message out.... Standing sprays for my sister's funeral last April was a major disappointment, but what was even worse was trying to get Rockville Florist to be accountable. Their customer service is horrific, as my calls went unanswered for days after my initial complaint. Fortunately, Avas Flowers fixed the problem, but I was distressed over this incident at a time I was mourning the loss of my sister, and the employees and the owner of Rockville Florist were cold hearted people! Who runs a business this way when they don't answer the phone for days? Not to mention that they never resolved my issue and as a paying customer, one would think that the business would want returning customers. To back up a two months, I realized after dealing with these unprofessionals, that Rockville Florist was the company that delivered flowers I ordered for my sister two months prior. I ordered a dozen yellow roses with a balloon, and the picture on the internet is so deceiving, because the roses she received were so small, with no greens to go with the roses! Seriously, only yellow puny roses and the balloon was delivered. I immediately called them to redeliver another arrangement, and the second round was much better.
