I had the best experience with the team at Rock Creek Tree Turf & Landscape. The arborist consult was very informative and the proposal was detailed and professional. Jimmy was great to work with for scheduling and on the day of the project the crew arrived on time and efficiently removed a very large Oak tree that was dead and pruned several others. They own all the specialized equipment including a crane and large chippers.... the climbers are so fun to watch. I got quotes from three companies - Rock Creek Tree came in as the middle bid but even if they came in as the highest I still would have gone with them as I felt there arborist was the most competent and honest in his evaluation. He took the time to educate me on the pros and cons of each option and wasn't just looking to sell me a job I didn't need (which I greatly appreciated and respected). If you’re looking for a trustworthy company for tree removal or pruning in the Rockville, Bethesda/Kensington area, I would highly recommend Rock Creek Tree Turf & Landscape. They exceeded my expectations and I even referred them to my brother in Olney who had them do some work as well. They did outstanding work. The job was difficult and they were very skilled. Also they were prompt, efficient, and cleaned up the area afterward.

This is the third project where we have used Rock Creek Tree Turf and Landscape. They were referred to me by a friend in the construction business who told me they were a top notch company with competitive prices.. This project went the same as the other two--everything from start to finish went extremely well. John Miller came out to go over the job and give us a detailed quote. The crew was on time, Nelson and his crew did a great job. Jimmy Lazas stopped by a couple of times during the day to ensure all was going well. We are pretty particular customers, and we have been extremely pleased with Rock Creek--we highly recommend them.

Tree removal was great. Then, I wanted for them to trim another tree as was agreed upon (with pictures they sent by phone). They did not provide the trimming that they agreed to and stated that they lost the pictures showing what they would trim. Very unprofessional. Make sure you save any pictures they send!!

They didn’t trim the tree on their first visit, installed a crooked patio, and didn’t lay down tarp over the entire area (large plants were sprouting there after a couple weeks). After they tried to fix it, I let them know I was still unhappy with the result; from there on they just gave me the runaround. Lots of missed appointments, saying they’d call me back and then not doing it, and general vagueness about when things would get done. I wish I could say only use this company for tree-related projects, but they didn’t even do *that* right the first time. Very disappointed with the quality of work and the level of customer service.

Excellent service and work. On time, did exactly the work contracted for, cleaned up and it looked as though the trees had never been there. I have used them several times with excellent results each time. Several friends have also used this company with the same reliable results. Highly recommend.

I've used several different companies and the biggest frustration is that most of the tree removal people will not split wood. We have forest all around the house and we have a wood burning fireplace, so it?s really nice to be able to split the wood. I?m getting up there in age and I?m having back problems. I can't split the wood anymore. Last year in the fall I finally found a business that was willing to split the wood. It was $1,000 for three guys for a full day. I think that?s what I paid them. It was expensive. I happened to hit them at a time that they were low on demand, so they gave me the whole crew for one day.

The entire process was smooth and easy from start to finish. Chris performed the estimate in a timely manner and we were scheduled in turn, quickly. The 5 man crew who arrived were led by a terrific man, Nelson, and all crew members were extremely polite and conscientious about their work. The area they left from removal and trimming was quite neat and free of debris. They worked hard to remove even the finest sawdust left behind by the grinder. I would definitely use their service again and have already recommended them to several neighbors who have inquired about them. Thanks for such reliable, great service!

John Miller showed up on time and provided a very detailed estimate by the end of the day with pictures, showing exactly what would be done and where. His crew showed up on time and got right to work with the complete removal and stump grinding of one tree, and trimming of another. They took care of our property and left the job site in excellent condition. We would definitely hire them again.

John Miller is quick to respond to give an estimate or answer any questions. He and his crew are not only hard working but thorough, neat, considerate and conscientious. They show up on time and get the job done extremely well in a very timely manner. If you're looking for excellent top quality service this is the group to use. In the past several years I have hired Rock Creek Tree, Turf and Landscape to do spring clean up but also have had them replace a dead tree one year, and in 2015 after a major snow storm hired them to plow out our driveway, and this year we needed the turf work as well as the annual spring clean up. With every service we have been extremely pleased and recommend them highly.

I reached out to them to get a quote even before we were ready to have them removed. John came out, took photos and had an estimate to me within 48 hours. He was kind and professional. We received a discount for having all three removed at the same time (versus each on different days). The job was not small, we had three huge pine trees covering most of our backyard and brushing up against the house and roof. They again provided us another small discount for working around their schedule (in between bigger projects). The total for the work was not only reasonable, but beat out almost all the other quotes we received with above par professionalism and communication which indicated to me they would be professional and diligent with the work. It was an all day job, and they came early, had everything done neatly and professionally, and provided entertainment for my toddler who was fascinated by their big machines. I would use them again for any future tree removal needs, and have referred them to a couple friends. Great work at a very competitive price- what a purchase! The only complaint I have is that they did knock a couple boards loose on our fence. They did hammer them back it, but not well, as our dog escaped through the panel they 'fixed' and we needed to replace the panel.

I was very impressed all around with the professionalism and skill of this organization. To begin with, the owner made time to meet with me to prepare an estimate after normal business hours on the same day that I called him in order to accommodate my schedule. I was very apprehensive about this project given the proximity of these large trees to my house and also because the trunks were only a few feet away from a new fence. The owner understood my concerns and personally supervised the work. The crew arrived promptly and they worked carefully and neatly, completing the work in only 2 days, when other companies quoted 3-4 to complete it. The crew was very skilled with climbing, saws, ropes, etc. and no collateral damage was done to my own property or that of my neighbors. Overall, I couldn't have been happier with the quality and customer service I received and for a very good price.

The crew was on time, finished on time, were pleasant, had great attention to detail and were very thorough. The owner came out to look everything over and we are asking them to install another bed between us and our neighbor.

Spoke with John a just after New Years about removing some trees. He explained the process and took pictures of the tree that were to be removed.  I had a quote that afternoon via email. In quote explained about the type of tree I was having removed and a detailed price for each tree. The email indicated that once I OK the quote that they would be out the next week to remove the tree.  The trees were removed on Wednesday the very next week and the grinding was completed a couple days later and the clean-up was completed just this past week (1/13-15/14).  Did they did an outstanding job to my satisfaction. I am on their list for snow removal, as well as mulching and weekly mowing of my lawn. I do have plans for other garden/yard project that I already mentioned to John. I even recommended Rock Creek Turf & Landscape to my neighbor who has been looking for someone to take care of his lawn as he was unhappy with the company he was using last year. I highly recommend John and his crew for all garden/yard projects.
