I had a very old HVAC (about 25 years old). For years, Robinson's serviced my system. Although they predicted that the system would fail soon, I did not listen and they dutifully patched it each season. Well, it finally died (for good) and could not be patched. Robinson's walked me through the fatal issue and then advised me on the replacement. Although, this is currently a very busy time due to high temperatures, they worked to fit me in as sooner than I even had the money to pay them, with an eye on the upcoming heat wave. From the people in the office to the technicians, Robinson's is the ultimate example of a world class family business. They are why people seek "family businesses". You can tell they really care about their work and reputation. In me they have a customer for life. You simply can not go wrong by hiring this company.

We only asked for simple servicing for our AC, if needed. We'd had no problems. After less than a 2-minute diagnostic, the repairman announced that it was very low on freon. He could refill it for $1000, but he suggested that it wasn't worth spending the money on a system that old and he could install a new system for $4500. "That's why it's working so poorly." Except, it wasn't working poorly, and the unit is less than 6 years old. Called Krafft, who showed up a few hours later, ran a 10-minute test, and said there was absolutely nothing wrong.

Ever since we moved here and it's been over 30 years, we have used Robinson's Heating and Air Conditioning. They are top notch. We have never had a problem. They come in emergencies. We have a contract with them. They come twice a year. They don't need to come more than twice a year. They are reliable and they are experts at what they do.

One person came to complete the service. It took about an hour and a half for the work to be completed. They were fast to the point and got the job done. They left the area just as it was.

It was the day before the big snow storm of January 2016, and we had no heat. I called a number of places with no success but then called Robinson's, they answered the phone early in the morning and had a technician at our house within the hour. He identified the problem and we quickly had heat again. He was very honest and could have told us we needed a new motor or unit. With the coupon from their website, it only cost us $80. I would highly recommend this company again and again! I know we will need to replace our unit at some point, and when we do, Robinson's will get the call.

The installers were prompt and courteous. They came when they said they would, and were very careful to keep the work area clean, as we had just completely remodeled the entire house including new carpets. I would recommend this company to anyone. It was truly a pleasant experience, from the first telephone call to their offices, through the installation of the unit.

Our air conditioner stopped working Thursday evening so I called the company and left a message. We received a phone call early the next morning saying a technician would be here before 12:00 a.m. Rob called one half hour before getting here before 12.He checked things out, fixed the problem and everything is cool and wonderful. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

I sold my home and was closing on 7/9/2012 when my air conditioner unit on the 1st floor broke 7/5/2012. Panicked, I started calling A/C repair on Angies list when I reached to my good fortune Robinsons. I explained the situation to the woman who answered the phone and she made an appt for 7/6/2012. The temperature was over 90 degrees that week so the fact that they came the next day during a very busy time was greatly appreciated. Rob came promptly on Friday at the time they said he would be there. After examing the unit, he said the fan was broken and I needed a part to be ordered. I told him my dilemma about closing Monday and I needed it fixed before my 1pm closing time. Because it was Friday, he told me the part would probably not arrive until Monday after 3pm. I told him I would call my real estate agent and explain the situation. That evening, around 7:30 I received a call from Rob stating he located a part in Frederick,MD, that he would pick it up on Monday morning when they opened at 7am and be at my home by 8am. True to his word, there he was at 8am Monday morning and it was repaired. I can't thank Rob enough for going way beyond a routine service call. I highly recommend this company. You don't receive service like that anymore. Thank you Robinsons, thank you Rob and I will use nobody but Robinsons in the future.

Our hot water heater pilot light went out, and we called Robinson's since our renovation contractor had used them to do other work in our house recently. They were able to get a technician out within 2 hours of my call. The technician re-lit the pilot AND taught me how to do it myself if it happened again.
He advised that if it didn't stay lit, it likely would need a new thermocouple -a relatively simple repair.
By day two, the pilot went out again, and I was able to relight it myself (since I had been shown the day before) in order to get some hot water for the evening. This morning, I called them back, and they had the technician back within 4 hours of my call to replace the thermocouple. I really appreciate their responsiveness and professionalism! And, I have my hot water heater going again. I am very pleased.

We were recommended through a contractor we are planning to use for other issues on our house. I was impressed that they responded immediately to my evening before email and promptly sent someone out to diagnose the problem. The dispatcher was very good about calling me to let me know when he was coming, etc. It started off very well.
When the technician got here, he was rushing through things and diagnosed it as a bad compressor. He said he'd have the company find out if it was under warranty (I quickly looked and it was but he didn't take that as an answer). He asked for a service fee of $100 and said that the company would call with additional information. They wanted $1500 for labor only for the compressor repair (assuming that was the problem) or over $5000 to replace the system (it didn't make sense to do such an expensive fix to us). We then had 4 other company's come out. Out of the 4, only the last one actually fully inspected the system and made a repair for "only" $256.
I was very disappointed in the inaccurate and expensive diagnosis when it turned out to be a quick/simple repair. Other company's have free diagnosis and I didn't mind paying a service fee if it was an accurate diagnosis (and we used another company) but it was the wrong diagnosis and we had to go without ac for another night till someone finally was able to fix it).
**Update: I did contact the company and they do stand by their need for the repair but they have agreed not to cash our check for the diagnosis fee. I am modifying part of my report as I did appreciate how they handled it in the end. I do appreciate their responsiveness.

This was a great experience, and has me wondering why I didn't get around to installing central AC earlier! Bill came over to look at what needed done, and gave me different options for how they could run the ductwork and where they could install the new machinery. He was very straightforward about what he thought would work best, given the configuration of my house. Because he thought creatively about how the ducts and air exchanges could be placed, I didn't lose ANY closet space - a real bonus in an older house. That afternoon I had an estimate with several options priced out, and his pricer called me to make sure I understood what was in the estimate and to discuss the different equipment options. Once I signed the contract, the office manager was able to schedule the work quickly. The guys showed up (on time!!) on the day the work was to start, and they finished everything in two days - the original estimate was three days. They left the house, including the basement, very clean and did a great job of placing the air vents where they would blow maximum air into the room with minimal impact on the visual aesthetics of the space. They were also very good about working around my dogs - I have one dog who is scared to death of people she doesn't know, and I was afraid she would nip one of the team. But they were so kind to her, fed her a few treats and gave her a few pats on the head, and she settled and let them get vents into "her" dog room. The AC is working great, even in the upstairs attic space that is now the master bedroom. They were also able to run ducts into an upstairs bathroom that was very tricky to get to, again - thinking creatively about how to make that work. I never thought that the upstairs space would get cool, but it has been very comfortable even in this wave of warm weather we've had. Wonderful experience from start to finish, I would recommend them to anyone who was retrofitting AC into an old home.
