RMA BP

RMA BP is the garage/servicer for RMA Limo service, so it is a treasure for we owners of Lincoln Town Cars and, presumably, their body twins -- Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Marquis. The sun roof in my 1999 town car broke. My local (quite good) mechanics did not want to tackle this repair -- too tricky they said, go to the dealer. But the Lincoln dealers here have mediocre ratings and we've been burned there a couple of times. In desperation, I called RMA Limo (which uses Lincoln Town Cars to provide limo service to my company) and asked their advice. They pointed me to their service station. I dealt with Mike Arias. He checked with the the Ford/Lincoln dealers and told me they would only sell him the entire sun roof (big bucks) even though I only needed to replace one of the adjustment arms. He said that seemed unreasonable. He offered to negotiate further with them but, as an alternative, to take it apart and bolt it closed. However, I searched the web and found a dealer in sun roof parts who had the factory OEM parts that Lincoln would not sell. I had him FedEx those parts to the station. He sent the wrong parts; Mike called him and got the right parts shipped. Mike installed them and put it all together. The result was a bill for about $300-$400 instead of $1500-$2000. That charge also included taking apart an under-dash fan duct, cleaning it, and resealing it -- a source mentioned on the Internet as a often undisclosed source of leaks. A month later, everthing works fine. In all of this, Mike and other station staff were courteous, careful with my car, and took practical steps to meet my needs in a professional and economical way.
