The Richard's technician, Pete, checked the entire system. He was on time, courteous and thorough. I received a call from his office to let me know when to expect his arrival. Pete answered my questions, offered advice about the optimum operation of the system and was generally very helpful. My only issue was the Angie's List ad. The ad advertised this service for $49 which I paid in advance. The technician advised that what I paid was for a trouble call and not routine service call. I paid an additional $30 for the service I received for a total charge of $79. The ad should have been clearer as to what was or was not included.

nThe estimator gave me two options. I chose one and a few days later the installation crew arrived with the new machine and air handler. The supervisor and his assistants got to work, removed the old units and installed the new units and a new programable thermostat.. The crew was very polite and professional and used a canvas floor covering where needed.
I observed that the heat pump was placed on a leveled platform and inside the fit up from the new air handler to the existing piping was excellent. Overall the installation was outstanding.
By late afternoon the job was done and the suervisor Tony took the time to explain to me the new system, the guarantee, etc.
I was given a form to fill out and sign which I did.
A few weeks later I received a $150 rebate from carrier and a $200 rebate from Dominion Electric. So this reduced the price by $350.
Now over 2 and a half months have gone by and the system is performing great.
A pat on the back to all who helped with the purchase and installation. Great company, great price. I am a very satisfied customer.

The repairman showed up on time and was professional and informative. They had to order a part but followed up a day later with a call to schedule the installation They came back right on time and called ahead of scheduled time as promised. I would recommend to anyone with a repair request or for a new system.

It went fine. It was a long time ago. It went pretty smoothly. I had no complains or anything. I did not have any other expenses other than the big deal. The worker was nice and good.

The air conditioner stopped cooling. It was supposed to go into the 90's that day. I called Richards and they said someone would come out the same day. The technician (Pete) arrived and checked the unit. He fixed the broken parts and was finished within one hour. It is an old unit and I was afraid I would have to replace it. Pete said it was 20 years old, but seemed to work fine after the broken parts were replaced. He was punctual, polite, and did not try to sell me anything--which I really appreciate. I would definitely use them in the future.

I purchased the big deal coupon for this service and it went really well. They were very timely and professional. Everything seemed to go as planned. They were able to do it even though I was not at home, which was good.

Fixed the part that could be fixed but said I needed replacement. The office was supposed to call me to give me an estimate but did not and I had to go find another company

Technician was on time and pleasant. There was a bit of confusion about our address, which had been written down incorrectly, but the company was in contact with us and we flagged down the driver. I thought the $165 Saturday service call price was steep and the 8-4 window annoying, but they did call 30 minutes before coming and arrived more or less within that half hour.

They came in immediately and they located the problem and fixed it.
