We're very happy that we chose Potomac fence. Dale provided our estimate and clearly listened carefully as each part of the project was completed exactly as discussed. It took some time to schedule the work due to a ton of bad weather recently, but the crew (led by Jose) arrived on time, took covid precautions and worked diligently to complete the project in one day. They really did a beautiful job. We are thrilled with the results. We bought an old fixer upper and have done a ton of projects over the last few years, but this was one of the most impressive in terms of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Jose made sure to check in with us on several details and was very thoughtful in the process. They hauled away an ancient (eye-sore of a) chain-link fence and all debris so that our kids could go out in the yard right away to check out the beautiful new fence. We really feel they went above and beyond on both form and function and we'll appreciate the upgrade to our yard and exterior for many years to come! We found the price to be very competitive with other estimates we received.

Absolutely horrible. Do not use this company--they're lazy and incompetent. They ran part of fence through our neighbor's garden--while it was on the plot, maybe ask us first what we want to do? They left 3-4 inch gaps under the fence. We had to call them out 4 times before they finally got everything right. They used poor materials that rotted and rusted in less than 18 mos--and then wanted to charge $500 to correct their shoddy craftsmanship. Go anywhere else. Anywhere.

We opted for a 5ft. split rail fence for 285ft perimeter with 3 gates. I thought the price was very reasonable. They were on time, handled the permits, finished on time, and it looks great.

The whole process from estimate to completion of fence went smoothly; we are very satisfied. I had read up about fence styles and things to consider on the internet and in an article by the Washington Consumer's Checkbook in advance. I selected Potomac Fences based on Angies List and the Checkbook ratings plus they had installed some other fencing for us several years ago. The estimator came at time planned. He spent time talking with us about various options and sent us a quote that day. I contacted all 4 neighbors that shared the fence prior to the construction to make sure everyone was ok with the plan. The 2 man crew arrived on the day planned and worked hard all day (8:30AM-6PM). The crew boss was very helpful and pleasant to work with. Most of the project was completed by the time they left on day 1. They promptly returned to finish the fence. They picked up all the debris. A neighbor who was home during the construction commented on how hardworking, polite and friendly the crew was. The fence looks great.

They were excellent. Arrived on time, worked 9 hours straight and finished the job in one day ! They were very pleasant, and the job was done in a professional manner. Very pleased. They came out promptly for the estimate, clearly explained what they would do and the choices of material and installation, and executed the job without a glitch. They weren't the cheapest but I was happy with the result and they were no hassle and professional _ definitely worth the little extra.

Potomac Fence did a superb job on replacing an old backyard fence with a new treated-pine stockade-type fence. I have nothing but excellent things to say about the job Potomac Fence did and my experience with them. They went out of their way to accommodate my requests and answer questions. Dale, who provided the estimate, patiently and cordially went through all my options, and wrote a clear and detailed contract. The head of the two-person crew that did the work, Rene, was outstanding. Not only did he produce a fence with perfectly straight lines and verticality, but he also spent a whole extra day rebuilding a fence door from scratch when the factory-built version did not match the contours of my property. Also, the terrain in which the fence was placed had a lot of vegetation and other obstacles in it; these were all removed, leaving a clean space bordering the fence. I recommend that you have Rene be the crew lead if possible should you go with Potomac Fence. If I ever have another fence built I will absolutely do it with this company.

They are very good. They are absolutely terrific. I am very pleased. They are very inexpensive.

They did an excellent job. The initial visit where they provided me an estimate was much more informative and detailed than other company's estimates I had received. During the construction, the workers were very professional, courteous and paid close attention to detail. They went out of their way to remedy design issues to ensure it met my preferences. I appreciated their "can do" attitude and attentiveness to following the specifications of the contract, that was not a basic configuration. During their entire time here, they worked non stop.

This is the second job I've done with Potomac, and they did outstanding work both times. Very professional, quality work, and at a very reasonable cost. I definitely recommend this company.

Randy was efficient and his team were professional, polite, and highly skilled. They removed two small trees in the process and adapted the fence to accommodate another healthy tree.

The Sales Representative, Dale, appeared to be an honest guy, until the day work began. He started off by improperly instructing his team against what was stated in writing, which cause a complete downward spiral. Potomac Fence does, however, have a really great team that actually performs the work. Lionel and the other workers that installed the fence were a pleasure to work with. Dale on the other had is not an honest guy which is primarily the reason for the low rating. The other reason I gave them a low rating is, no one from Potomac ever came out to do a final walkthrough of their work after I requested it from Dale. He refused and just stated, that he could settle the balance over the phone. Which simply showed that either he, Dale and/or Potomac does not care about the quality of their work nor the customers they service. Price wise, they were competitive with other companies we contacted. Overall, I'd say the new fence looks nice, but would have only hoped they returned to make a few corrections in how the gates are installed unevenly...about an inch difference in height between the left and right sides and the latching of the gates don't work properly either.

PERFECT! I highly recommend Potomac. I've used them at least 4 times. Their prices are competitive, their work is impeccable and their employees are professional. They're my first call whenever I need fence work done; you won't be disappointed.

They arrived promptly at 0900 and finished at 1505. Very professional - did exactly what they were supposed to and cleaned up most of their construction debris - missed two areas of saw dust. It was a VERY hot day - I provided 10 bottles of water for the 3 man crew. Paid by credit card after a $500 deposit. This vendor was the lowest of 3 bids. (Other bids for the EXACT same job were $2335 CALCO; $2549 Master Fences Co.)

Everything about working with Potomac Fence was easy. Randy came out quickly after my initial phone call to provide an estimate. Installation was fast too; it took a two-man crew only 3-1/2 days to complete all of the work. Though I called in mid-April to schedule installation as the busy season was ramping up, they were able to put me on the schedule for my preferred date, which was just three weeks later.   

Every step of the way Potomac Fence helped me negotiate through the little details of the project. Their permitting service took care of getting the proper paperwork filed with DCRA. They then hauled away my old fence. They also worked with one of my neighbors to haul away a portion of his fence which mine was going to make redundant. Potomac Fence was also extremely courteous when I needed to pause installation for a week in order to accommodate an adjoining neighbor's project. Throughout it all, every phone call and email was exceedingly professional and pleasant. 

Most important, the fence looks gorgeous. Several of my neighbors have complimented it. I am pleased too with the gate installation; though my driveway gate is fairly large - 11 feet wide and 7 feet tall - it opens effortlessly in all weather with no dragging or sticking.

Potomac Fences was wonderful from the estimate thru installation.
They were flexible with scheduling, coordinating with some major
landscaping that we were having done.  On installation day the 
installers arrived on time and discussed the perimeter of the fencing.
They were understanding of my concerns concerning our property
line.  They were the nicest, happiest! workers I have ever had.
I would definitely recommend this company.

All went very well. The new sections were well done. The gated sections were reconfigured. Every effort was made to use any of the displaced materials from the moved gated sections. It was difficult to find a contractor to do partial repairs of the fence, and Potomac Fence was willing and able. Once it was discovered that one of the ordered posts was not in the order, they promptly scheduled a return trip to install that post. On the return visit, they did an excellent job of filling in any remaining holes from the moved gate areas. All and all it was an excellent job and a good experience.
