Pet Dominion

Overall it went great, our puppy was very clean and happy when we picked her up. We were also pleased with the setup of Pet Dominion's facilities, they were VERY clean, their staff was professional and very helpful. I cant remember anyone's name (I never do) but the person at the front desk was expecting us and greeted us by name without even meeting us before. He also showed us around the facility so we could see where our dog would sleep and where she would play/walk. Overall, I think it was best that we walked away from Pet Dominion feeling VERY comfortable with them watching our dog, and that is the most important thing for anyone who really cares about the quality of their dog's stay. I thank the staff at Pet Dominion for treating us and our dog with so much respect!

I have boarded our lab at Pet Dominion for 12 1/2 years. She loves going to Pet Dominion. they provide an array of services, but do not push any services you may not want. Staff is always very friendly and responsive and helps getting our elderly pet in and out of the car. Kennels are individual LARGE indoor runs, NO "stacked" crates and have a lot of room to walk around within the kennel. I have always felt comfortable leaving our pet here. She gets individual attention, a "report card", and is given any necessary medications, treatments. She is always eager to go right on in when we arrive. Non-aggressive pets have outdoor free play with each other, which she also enjoys. I like the fact that they have a veterinary practice on site. We already had a vet when we started taking her here so we did not switch, but they have seen her for emergency treatment when her vet was not available and were excellent. Complete grooming services are also offered -- I generally have my dog bathed, brushed, and nails trimmed before picking her up from boarding. Unlike many kennels, they open early for drop off (7 am) and have Sunday pick-up/ drop-off times, thus saving the expense of an extra day that you don't need or rushing home from work on Monday to pick up. Doggie day care is also offered if you just need to have your pet out of the house during the day, or while you are at work. They require proof of current shots for all boarding animals which lessens the chance that your pet will get ill. Our dog has never gotten ill from boarding. I would never take my dog anywhere else. My dog is now nearly 14; they put special mats in runs so that she does not slip. I still feel very comfortable leaving an elderly dog there since I know she will receive good care.

We have used Pet Dominion for 27 years...for all 10 of the cats we've had over all of these years! Dr. Bassett is the kindest, gentlest, most caring vet ever. We love Dr. Falter, too, who bottle-fed the two kitties that we adopted from her (she got no sleep for 2 weeks), but alas she has moved! This time we saw Dr. Andrews for the first time and she did an excellent job with our cat, Bernstein. She gave him medication that would alleviated any intestinal/stomach problems that could have caused the one bleeding event, with the hope that we didn't have to go on and check his colon (cancer?) if this didn't work. Guess what? It did work! He felt better and better throughout the week and is back to his usual playful, loving self. We are so grateful that she didn't immediately put him through invasive, expensive tests(although no amount is too much to spend on our beloved cats!). This veterinary practice has grown so much during our years with them. They are highly professional and highly skilled, but they also show so much love for each of our animals. Went very well. there was some mix-up about when we would be picking up our dog; but staff agreed to make it right; which we appreciated. We will definitely use Pet Dominion in the future.

It went GREAT! We just moved into the area and I had been looking for a new Vet for my dog. Upon entering the facility which was very clean and orderly, my dog became the center of attention and they all focused on her! It was great for her as she knew this was a Vet and she knew what might be coming. They talked to her, played with her and loved on her....it was as if we were already part of the family and not new client at all. I love it there, I could see with my own eyes that my dog was taken well care of. I got all of her medications taken care of and she had a great experience, well...I guess she did as she had a big smile on her face while we were there. I read all their reviews from other Angie's List members and tried them myself and the reviews are not wrong. I am glad I found a place where I know my dog will be taken care of and loved. Thanks to the staff for making a new person in the community feel warm and welcomed.

They were great! I’m impressed how they did things. They were very friendly, helpful and professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We loved that they have a toy dog room for only the small dogs to be boarded in. A big plus because of all the noise caused by bigger dogs. The stay for our dog was an enjoyable one. We received a report card of how here visit went. The report card included how much she ate, her mood over the stay there.

They were excellent. Our dog was very happy here. Price was great. I am sure we will use them again.

They couldn't have been nicer. The place is well run, very clean and very friendly. We will use them again.

Pet Dominion is a great vet office. My husband and I were lucky enough to adopt our dog on that Sunday. Overnight I noticed our dog was scratching his left ear. I knew it was the start of an ear infection. I called the next morning and was able to get him in that day. The appointment went quickly and on time. The vet was very nice and explained everything very clearly. They took the time to show us how to clean his ears and apply the medication. We have been back again and had another great experience. They are our vet of choice for our newest family member.

Our dogs were very happy....and that is what it is all about.

Every member of the staff that we have interacted with has been extremely caring, accomodating and responsive. The kennel was very attentive to the special needs of our dog; he has some vision problems and is fussy with food.

They take really good care of my dog, I've been going there for about 6 years now. They are a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for with them.

After a disastrous stay in 2011 at another veterinary kennel where one of our two cats died, in summer 2012 we brought our remaining cat to Pet Dominion where we decided to board her for one week. Because of our previous trauma, we were terrified of putting our cat in a kennel. Upon arrival at Pet Dominion, everyone from the veterinarian who examined her to the receptionist showed concern and compassion for our cat (and us). Leah did a particularly great job of making sure we understood the full care package they were giving our cat. The facility is very clean and bright, the pet units are large, and the cat kennel room is separated visually and aurally from the dog kennel room. They encourage owners to call to check in during the cat's stay. Most importantly, upon arrival, we noticed that the other resident cats seemed content and playful (!). When we brought our cat home after her 7 nights in the kennel, she did not seem stressed or anxious, and she was back to her normal routine within a day or so. With our previous kennel, it would take her nearly a week to recover. Selfishly we are hesitant to recommend Pet Dominion, because we don't want to have difficulties making reservations during peak travel periods, but they did such a great job that we feel it is our duty to recommend them for cat boarding. We believe Pet Dominion is the best cat boarding facility in the DC metro area.

They see if the dogs are comfortable & assess their personality which I appreciated. However, my dog is a rescue & is timid & a little shy so they wouldn't take her. I was really disappointed that they didn't have a separate service for more timid dogs - I felt my dog was disenfranchised!

Everything went well. The dog received excellent care while we were away.

We actually looked at a number of other places before we boarded our dog the first time. It was the cleanest, and they have people who are caring. They had really nice kennels that were their own little beds so we really liked the amenities that they offer. I would consider using their services again in the future if I need to.

Whenever I travel I take board my dog with Pet Dominion. He seems happy when I pick him up and when I call to check on him they are always happy to check no matter how many times I call.

Our new shelter cat, Neko was very ill and they performed numerous tests and never gave up on her. Eventually with the excellent care Pet Dominion staff provided Neko recovered fully and still has all 9 lives left.

The visit was excellent in all areas. The front desk, the vet techs and the vet were all great. It was very evident that Pet Dominion staff care about their patients.

Very professional staff, helpful on the phone and in person. Our dogs were well cared for while we were away and came home without any issues.

Prices are reasonable and staff is very professional and caring. They offer different levels of service depending on things like how much playtime you want your dog to have and additional services. Dogs can have individual or group playtime. Our dog has a motor problem so he had individual time. They provide food, but our dog is on a special diet so we provided the food. If you take your dog there you will know that he is well cared for, and there's the additional benefit in knowing that there are vets available in case of an emergency. We dealt with Lisa who does the scheduling. They seem genuinely interested in the animals they care for. We will definitely go there again. After looking around and visiting various boarding places, we chose Pet Dominion because of Angie's List recommendation. We're glad that we did.

I boarded my dogs for 2 weeks while I was in Europe. When I picked them up they were in good spirits, healthy and smelled good (even without a bath). One of the dogs is elderly and the staff are quite solitious of her. I have boarded these dogs and my previous ones at Pet Dominion for many years and have always been very happy with the way they were treated. The dogs recognize the place and go willingly with the staff to the boarding area. When they come home they rest comfortably indicating to me that they got plently of exercise. I have left a dog with serious medical problems with them who was treated very well and one elderly dog that got very sick while I was out of the country and was transferred to the clinic side. The staff brought the younger dog to visit each day to help them adjust. Several of my dogs have been rescue dogs and the staff has been sensitive to and handle their "issues" well.

They are very nice. I did not spend any money on my visit there and I just spoke to the people there. The facility is very clean and the people are very friendly. I liked it but I haven’t taken my dog there as yet. They have a boarding facility and on the other side they have the veterinarian clinic. The boarding place is clean and it didn’t have the dog smell. They showed me around the facility and I liked it. I will consider using their services again in the future.
