LA Fitness - Rockville

This place was perfect. Very clean, nice people.

This location opened about a year ago, in the new complex with the Whole Foods called North Bethesda Market. It was less than a mile from my house, so I wanted to give them a try. The complex is actually 4-5 floors underground, so cell phone reception is a major issue.
The upside, they have swimming, a full court basketball court, and ample cardio and workout machines, as well as spinning and dance classes. I mainly did the cardio and basketball during my trial, but ended up going to Retro Fitness across the street because of the price. If you want a more full service gym, I would recommend L.A. Fitness.

I had to speak with corporate headquarters and had to call them several times. I was not happy with their results. I would say I am not joining and I don't think they were fair in their decisions. I do not know their policies but I thought something could have been done on our behalf and it was not. I called because a family member passed away and they were a lifetime member. They said it was non transferable but when we originally signed up with Bally's they said it was. I informed them we would like them to transfer my father's membership and they told me the opposite from when I personally went in to Bally's 2 years ago and they said it would be. My father was 88 years old and has been a member since he was young. He never knew his membership was sold.

I had bad knees, but their location was down under a parking garage and the elevator was not working. They kept telling me that they would fix it and they had not. When I went to cancel my membership, they told me they would give me my money back and they haven't.
