Darren and his crew did an excellent job of clearing out two houses in Maryland that were part of an estate. I was amazed at the hard work and efficiency. They were professional in their discernment of what went to auction, donation, or junk. This company is friendly, sharp, reasonable and timely. I can't say enough good things. I would certainly recommend!

Darren Hahnfeld pretended his proposal, came to the property in Chos Fektown in march and organized the sale. It was "the even" in our community. Everyone was very pleased with the service pricing and support. Darren communicated with us every step of the way.

We are regulars at estate sales and this was the worst!  The prices are extremely inflated and the guy who was taking the money was not only rude to everyone(I especially felt bad about the way he spoke to and elderly woman carrying a heavy vacuum)but spoke Spanish to an older man working there. Talking bad/degrading people and what stupid and weird things that they were buying and extremely mad when people were putting items down to hold while they got others. It is extremely difficult for people to carry everything. I've never heard a person at an estate sale so rude about it.  They were unaware that one of the people we were with is fluent in Spanish.  We had already purchased items and put a deposit on something else before hearing all of this.  Now here is the our personal bad experience.
After agreeing on a price we put a $100.00 deposit on a buffet that had a glass tower on each end. The glass towers were unigue and made the buffet special which we had discussed with the sales people. We went home(a 40 minute ride each way)to get our truck. When we came back they had sold the towers right off of the buffet. Actually took them off of the buffet that they were attached to and sold them out from under us.  It was ridiculous! A man who seemed to be the owner said "Oh, well we will give you 50% off any other item"  We left disgusted!! We had already purchased some items earlier in the day.
If you look at reviews on this and other websites you will see that people using them for Estate sales and people buying items all have similar issues with them.  They rip people off without care or consequence!

"We apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced. We always strive to offer exceptional customer service to all of our estate sale shoppers. All household items are individually tagged and priced. Any items that inadvertently are missing tags are corrected immediately by our staff once brought to our attention. We would like to offer you a discount coupon for an item of your choice at one of our future estate sale events. Thank you for the feedback and we look forward to serving your needs in the future."

Darren and his crew were fantastic.  A professional outfit from the start, they were goal-driven to sell out items in a store-like environment create in our home.  The attention to detail, from display to providing online previews only a few days before we were to have been out of the house, helped concrete his skills at a superb estate sales person, running a great company.  As we said in a different review, we were left trying to find someone who, not only, could conduct an estate sale, but one which was under an extreme time crunch. iStuff Sellers did this with ample professionalism.  This company has earned my utmost respect and admiration, I invite to any future estate seller, call them first let them show you what they can do for you.

Darren gets mixed grades. The estate sale itself was excellent. He advertised it well and we got plenty of response. We were pleased with the amount of merchandise he was able to sell at a good price. On this aspect of our experience, I would highly recommend this company.
Unfortunately, we had two significant hiccups. Darren promised to remove the remaining items from our house the night before we settled and take them to either a charity or an auction house. His men never showed up. I called repeatedly and left voice mails. No response. In a panic, my wife and I spent three hours consolidating all the items in our garage so that, if necessary, I could rent a truck and take them myself. The next morning I finally reached Darren. He didn't seem to grasp the difficulty and worry he had caused but he did send a truck. He charged $300 for that.
The other hiccup involved an original copy of Dickens I gave to him to put up for auction. It was valued at $800. He sent me a check for $35. He said the auction house had taken the best price. What kind of auction house sells an original copy of Dickens for $35? Someone walked away with a steal at my expense.
Response from iStuff Sellers
"Unfortunately due to (Members name removed) last minute request we were unable to get the truck over to his residence on the hour he requested but we were able to have everything removed in the time frame we were given. And we would have loved to have seen a better return on the book that was sent to auction as we work primarily off of a percentage basis. Mr. (Members name removed) was fully aware of this fact before sending all items over. (Members name removed) e also tried to have our company pay for a new retractable patio awning motor that none of our employees touched or had any reason to use."

Had to sell elderly mom household property.  Darren was fair, prompt, responsive, and completed all tasks as he said he would.  I was in another state and he handled everything for me.  Life saver!  Honest man and operation.

Overview: Due to a death in the family, we had a 6000 sq ft. home full of furniture, clothing, personal items, kitchenware and vehicles that we needed to sell and/or remove in order to place the home on the market. I spoke to several estate sale companies on the phone before deciding on iStuff sellers. Darren was far and away the most astute, knowledgeable, and professional of all I interviewed.
Performance: Darren and his brother Darryl never disappointed in the entire process. They turned a large estate into a store for the four days of the sale, remained there and ensured security the entire time. They accurately priced all contents, and worked with us through any questions we had. We saw their operation during the sale and it was A1. They moved a large number of buyers through the estate, and sold the majority of items. Whenever we called Darren with questions we immediately received a response. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for any type of business venture, they were that good, and that trustworthy.
Cost: Most sellers in this business will charge between 25% and 30% of the total taken, as did iStuff sellers, but for an Estate as large as this it was well worth it. And, for a reasonable fee, the carpets were cleaned following the sale, and all remaining items removed so we can move forward with the home sale. We received a complete listing of items sold and cost.

They tried hard  but it wasn't highly successful.     They claimed people would come from a long distance for the sale but in fact there were only local people, and since this company did not have a following in my area they did not attract the higher end buyers.    They claimed it was the fault of the location, being somewhat off the main road, however other local estate sellers do fine in my area.  They did not have a person on duty in each room so there was limited guarding against theft.    They had a very hokey way of pricing things with just a piece of masking tape, and they did limited research on value of the pieces.    Another issue is that I was treated with some disdain at one time, which I found highly insulting.    The price was reasonable - no up front or additional costs and they just took a percentage of the sale.

"We were very open and honest about taking on [member name removed] estate sale from the very beginning. Istuffsellers operates in all areas of Maryland and Virginia. And years of experience has taught us, location is key. Rural areas and lower income cities do not usually bring in the higher end spenders. With that said, we were willing to assist [member name removed] in helping her liquidate her estate to the best of our ability. Regarding posting a guard in every room of her household, as much as we would love to do this, its just not practical from a business stand point. We did limit everything that can be concealed behind a coat or into a purse into one room were they were constantly monitored by employees and a surveillance camera with a sign posted saying that shoppers are being monitored. With every other entrance and exit locked but the front door, where an employee is posted who is meeting and greeting people as they come in and also checking peoples receipts as they leave. Nobodies going to be walking out with a chair that they didn't pay for. And nothing was stolen. One obstacle which we did run into was [member name removed] unrealistic expectations of market price of her items when appraising. She was very adamant about lowering the price of certain items she felt were of higher value. Case in point, would be a used cabinet she wouldn't go lower than $2,000 for, even though it was broken and needing repair work. We walk the fine line of trying to get as much as we can for our clients stuff but ultimately it all has to be sold in a limited amount of time. So we try to satisfy all of our customers even when they are firm on doing the pricing themselves which by the way no other company allows. In the end we netted $8,000 in 16 hours in total sales and brought in around 500 shoppers to her estate. Which she can attest to because she sat in her car in the front of the house during the whole estate sale."

It was frenetic.  These people must have advertised all over the contintental US!
They came on Friday to stage my property and start appraising.  On Saturday, they came 1 hour early to prepare for the sale.  I left and had to "wade" between some dozen people or more already lined up at the door.
I came back Saturday afternoon and my house was just a wreck (a WONDERFUL wreck).  It was fall, wet leaves, etc., so this came into the house.  But, what was more was what went OUT of the house.  PLUS - they straightened up Sunday morning for the next wave.
Their pricinig was very generous in some cases and maybe not in some others.  But, they have their finger on the pulse of what is collectible today and many of my items were bought some 15 or more years ago.  I felt that they did a terrific job.  I am very pleased with their appraising capabilities and insight.  There is not one thing that they sold that I was unhappy about the price that they sold it for.  (In fact, there are quite a few items that I was really suprised that they priced-out and sold that I would have thought would been worth far less - so you never know!).
They had over 500 people in my house on Saturday alone!
In the end, they sold most everything that I wanted to sell.  I have some large pieces of furniture that I still want to sell and they are going to help me with taking it to auction.  I am going to move from Virginia to Florida and I will rely on Darren and istuffsellers until the very end.  I could not imagine anyone else in my home that would do a better job.
THEN, they put my house back together for me again!
And here is a personal note.  Perhaps the best way to know these people, other than the way they handled my Estate Sale is how they handled what is most important to me.  I have a 14 year old orange tabby cat, Buster (indoor & outdoor cat).  Very spoiled, very much my love.  He is old and his whole world was turned upside down.  AND, Mommy is nowhere in sight.  I was worried, but never said a word to Darren or his brother.  I just figured that I would take care of Buster when I got home and assuage his fears.
Well, Darren was having none of that.  His table and chair backed up to the french doors where Buster normally comes in and he kept an eye on him.  When the house was not full of people, he brought him in to comfort him and THEN made a comfy bed with boxes and a soft blanket just outside the door for him.  He watched and comforted my cat all day long.  And, from talking to him I dont't think that he has ever owned a cat!  Now, if this is how he is going to take care of my cat - how do you think he is going to take care of your home?  I don't know when I have been so touched with such genuine kindness.
Darren, you and yours are the absolute best in ALL ways.

Love-love-love this family-owned business! It was so refreshing to actually find someone who LOVES their job! Darren's enthusiasm for what he does was infectious, he kept us excited about selling as well! Due to the government shut-down, we needed extra financial cushion in case it went long without pay. We found iStuffSellers on Angie's List and explained we wanted an Estate Sale in our house to liquidate over 20K comic collections and collectibles but needed it quickly. Darren came right out, was thrilled at our collections and reassured us we had plenty of unique items to sell. He booked our sale under two weeks at our request with no problem, scheduled a day to come out and photograph as well as appraise what we had. He and his brother were so friendly and professional, they priced items to sell, offered suggestions to further sales, put up numerous professional signs and marketed everywhere. We received buyers from both in and out-of-state. The company was able to get folks in from as far away as Pennsylvania, NJ, and NY. They even delivered a motorcycle to a buyer in Pittsburg for us. iStuffSellers brought in tables, support staff, handled all the transactions and acted as intermediary with buyers so we wouldn't have to deal with all the haggling. If there were any questions, he acted as the liaison and contacted us right away for either information or to get approval on questionable price negotiations (low bidders).  Love the credit card support which dramatically increased sales as well. It was so great, easy, and the family was extremely friendly, exciting, always on time (although he got stuck in traffic once but called right away to let us know). Took all the stress off of us during a very stressful time. We were able to take it easy, have some family time over the weekend, while they put up sales and handled all the traffic and work. Best part was - NO FEES!  iStuffSellers takes a percentage of the final sale total which is GREAT - no out-of-pocket expense to us and a great incentive for them to sell. They even provide post-sale support if we had items we still wanted to get rid of, options like auctions, eBay, additional sale avenues, and made numerous calls for us to locate buyers interested in bulk sales for their own stores. The sales and traffic was remarkable -- we wound up running it 2 successful consecutive weekends. The contract states they provide the check within 2 weeks but they provided within one week of each sale. As with any business, there are always small areas which can be improved and expanded, but overall, totally awesome experience! Exceeded our goals. Would definitely use again.

I was under the impression that they would remove everything out of the house that didn't sell and they did not do that, they left anything that did not sell in the house. They charged 30% for everything that they sold. The gentleman was professional, he came, he met with us and he explained everything but his follow up was not good. I would use them again, but I would clarify, that it ended up costing me more money, removing the extra stuff.

"We would first like to say how grateful we are for the wonderful ratings we received from [member name removed]. Who was a real pleasure to work with. When she needed help with left behind personal documents we even went out of our way to shred and destroy 8 file boxes for her free of charge which our company is not usually outfitted to do. Unfortunately we are disappointed to find out that we were not more clear verbally on our post estate sale plan. And we were also very sorry to hear about the 2 week delay it would take for the charity to arrange pick-up for her. We would have loved to have saved her money for the removal instead of having to go with the got junk guys. We appreciate her business very much and will definitely take this into account for our future customers."

The overall experience from 1st contact to receiving the check was excellent.  Darren is very easy to reach and very responsive during the whole time he is working with you.  Words cannot explain how thrilled I am with my experience with Darren and his company and

of course, the proceeds from the sale - which far exceeded my expectations.
