With Home Groan Handyman Services some things went well and other things not so well. I sent in a response in on email on the services I got and never heard any results. They used the wrong color paint on the porch. They cut the screen doors to fit a level area where my porch is not level so they didn't really fit right. They tried to install a square screen door in a porch that's sloping slightly downhill and it doesn't line up. They did a good job of painting but we wanted the dark shade of cedar and they did the light shade. They were about two thirds done when we found out so we just let them go ahead, but it was the wrong color. I probably wouldn't use them again.

We have used Home Groan for over 2 years now. Baz is the most clever handyman we've ever met. In our 60 year old house, he has now: replaced two ceilings, fixed leaks from bad gutters, replaced gutters on front and back of house, found shorts in outside lights, cured an attempt at a squirrel chewing through wood to make a home in our attic, replaced attic insulation completely, installed a new screen door, fought a carport roof with leaks everywhere (took 4 tries to get that one cured), replaced outlets and installed a new privacy fence in the back yard needing to first pull out beat up small fence, repaired damage to the chimney from the east-coast earthquake, as well as more plumbing problems than we can count.
Our old house is a groaner and will challenge the best of the best. He does not give up. Baz is very experienced and knows what to expect when tackling an old house - the unexpected problems. He is quite personable and cheerful, has an endless abundance of energy and gets right to work when he arrives, no delays. I have yet to find a problem with my house he cannot fix.
He is very careful and makes sure you know all the potential problems that could arise before he starts, he's very reasonable with his rates and is willing to stick with that price even if it turns into more of a nightmare than expected. His quality of work is amazing and quite thorough.
Baz is also not hesitant to tell you if your and quot;cure ideaand quot; is not the best approach, offering a better solution just so you have all the facts to decide what you want to do. He is also not hesitant to tell you if what needs done is not within his realm of experience. (We want some intensive electrical work done in the house involving the box. He said we should have a professional electrician do that and has a recommendation for us too.)
We are even now awaiting a reply from Baz for some more things to do on our old house, including painting the outside for us and some more plumbing fixes in the bathroom. Meanwhile, the new privacy fence is amazing and so well done we still get compliments from neighbors on how well it turned out.
His prices cannot be beat and he is fast. When we first began working with him we already had several quotes for work and Baz, without knowing what those quotes were, beat every one by a large margin every time. His rates are very fair, his attitude is quite optimistic, and he is one hilarious fellow. We no longer go for outside quotes if Baz is available to do the work.
We highly recommend Home Groan for any and all handyman needs, especially if you have an old house and quot;with attitude.and quot; We hope he never decides to retire. We may cry if he does.

Baz is great to work with! He listens, offers suggestions, then goes to
work. he's very nice and fun to work with. He completed the work ahead of schedule, on budget, and with good
quality workmanship. I would definitely call him again. He does like to
have at least 4 hours or more of work at any one given time.

I now have a beautifully sided shed, thank to Baz and Homegroan. Baz does a great job - and he'll always stand by his work. He's smart, competent, and professional. Aside from siding my shed, Baz installed an interior and exterior door (both great) at an earlier date. He also replaced two of my old toilets, did some spackling work on a bedroom ceiling, and repaired some leaky plumbing in my laundry room. He really is a man of all trades - and he's very good at what he does! He always shows up on time, gives an accurate estimate, and works until the job is done.

Barry (Baz) arrived with his co-worker promptly to complete the work a few days after the estimate. They worked in parallel to complete all the items on the punch list. While trying to fix the leak under one side of the double kitchen sink, they realized the problem was worse than originally assessed. (A different contractor said the entire trap had to be replaced along with the trap of the other side of the kitchen sink). Baz and his partner replaced one faulty piece (not the entire trap) that was partly cut (causing the leak) by work done on the sink by someone in the past. The replacement piece cost under $8 at Home Depot. Baz charged an additional $20 for the extra repair. They did quality work. They spent a total of 4 hours to complete the work. They vacuumed, swept and wiped down things to clean up when they were done. They were very flexible and conscientious.

I've used them a couple of times and my sister has as well. We are very happy with them and we will continue to use them. The prices are excellent. It may not be the lowest, but it's always reasonable. The owner personally supervises most of the work.

Very thorough, cleans up after himself, if he has help he watches over them carefully. He painted and caulked around a window and looked in the house my cat was up in the window walking on the window sill that he had just painted. He put the cat in a room with her litter box and repainted the window.
