They failed to connect the water line to the humidifier inside the house. They failed to insulate the ducts bringing iar into the house and venting it from the house to the external unit (think sheet metal in a 20 degree freeze) and they left out the emergency heat pack which brings up the heat in a heat pump in sever cold (think 20 degree freeze). When the system could not heat the addition we called and they never responded.

Extremely unprofessional. For example: vents attached to removable ceiling tiles so that adjusting the vent moved the tile; installed a vent which was simply screwed to the drywall, you could pull it off with a fingernail. They accidentally poked a hole in the ceiling and never fixed it and lost several ceiling tiles and never replaced them. They installed controls at inappropriate places (eg in the furnace room) until I insisted they move them to the living room. They incorrectly wired the humidifier so it was on continuously. Later I found out that they had not installed the furnace to code and that they had never mentioned that it required a permit - which they made no attempt to obtain for obvious reasons. Despite repeated visits they never managed to fix everything until they finally offered to do additional work in 'compensation' but never returned. Ignored my phone calls and letters.

Great once he got here, but he didn't show the first day and was about 15-20 minutes late the second. The service man was very patient and helpful - explained what he was doing and showed me how things worked. Also gave advice on how to save gas and cleaning the water heater.

This is the second time we have used Great American. The first time was when we moved into our home and the heating went out. This summer the a/c went out. In both cases, they were extremely polite, prompt and professional. Their work was easily 20% less expensive than anybody else's quote. They performed the installations quickly and within one or two days of purchasing the order. An excellent HVAC company.
