I'm not sure I would use them again. They replaced a part in an AC unit and charged me $9o for the part, plus labor. The same part costs $15 at Home Depot or on Amazon. It doesn't seem like an honest mark up. Also, they told me that R22 freon refrigerant goes for $250 per pound "in the area." Per Angi's article ([*** Link removed ***] as of mid-2023, R-22 refrigerant prices range from $50 to $80 per pound, though I found other sources quoting it at $150 per pound. If this is honest and trustworthy--judge for yourself.

Great customer service. Our furnace dates to the 1980s - they service it and tell us they'll let us know when they think we need to replace it. Candid advice, no sales pressure. Punctual and professional.

It is something that helps the thermostat communicate with the furnace to tell when to turn on and when to turn off. That switch was malfunctioning, so it wouldn't turn off, it would just keep running and running and running. Eventually I found that if I hit the furnace at just the right place, it would make it shut off. So they replaced that switch for me. They came and opened the system up and looked at it and they confirmed that the problem was that switch and then they had to order a new one and then they came back a couple of days later to install the new switch.

The air conditioning broke on my wife's birthday which was September 9 and it was unusually hot that day. I tried to fix the thing myself the next day, but I failed to. They came on September 12. They determined that the problem was that the capacitor in my air conditioning compressor unit had failed and they replaced the capacitor. The whole bill was approximately $130 and the part was $68 and then there was some fee for them to come. They're a smaller company. I'm not sure if they offer 24-hour emergency service or anything. But I called them and my call was taken by a call center and then a technician called me back maybe in the middle of the next day. Then they came out the day after that. It was in the middle of an unusual heat wave in Washington DC, so they probably had a lot of customers right then and they're a small company. I don't hold it against them, but I know there are some larger companies where you could have got somebody to come in a couple of hours if you had to. I continue to use them because they're very good and very reasonably priced. The service is a little different than if you go to one of the real big companies. They left the area very clean. It was a simple job, they didn't even have to enter the house.

I thought I had provided a review some months back, but can't seem to find it, so . . . I was looking to replace my furnace last year and collected estimates from four of the top rated firms on Washington Checkbook and Angie's list. All the firms were very good and fairly competitive, but Ron from Eli's stood out slightly above the rest. He was (is) very professional, non-pushy, local, and offered a slightly better price. In the end, I had Eli's replace my AC unit too. The work done was very neat and quick. After a year of operating them both, I can say I remain a very happy customer:-). I have and continue to recommended Eli's to others, including our neighborhood list serve.

The service was very good. They did a very good job. I would recommend them very highly. They are very reasonable. They were very prompt. They gave us an estimate when we wanted them very quickly. They were quite very reasonable in cost compared to the other estimates we got. They were able to come in and get the job done quickly and in the time that they promised to get it done. I would use them again in the future if I have a need for something of that nature.

The business answered the phone when I called and promptly scheduled an appointment. The technician called shortly before arriving to let me know he was on his way. Arrived exactly on time. I have had other companies look at this problem and they were unable to solve it. This technician immediately said yes, I've seen this model before and it may be possible to clean one of the connecting pipes to repair it. He repaired it professionally and it has been working perfectly for a month ever since. Previously, I had to relight the pilot once or twice a day sometimes more. Other companies told me just to buy a new furnace. Technician was very friendly, knowledgable and personable. I very highly recommend this company.

Ron, the owner of Eli's, and his crew were professional, efficient, accommodating, courteous, and a complete pleasure to deal with. We are so please with the new air conditioning and furnace they installed -- it has made it far easier to keep a comfortable and constant temperature in our home. The technician, Dale, was great! Dale was very knowledgeable and quickly figured out what the problem with our a/c was which was the thermostat. Our unit is old so I was concerned that it needed to be replaced or that someone would say it needed to be replaced. I need not have worried with Dale. He also had a thermostat in his van which he was able replace immediately. There seemed to be a tricky element to it which he said would have been easy to either miss or not do, but he persevered to do a quality job. He also checked the filter which was dirty, but he allowed my husband to wash that out while he was working on the themostat to save some time and money. I will definitely use this company again and hope Dale is the one who comes to the house.

Eli's was highly recommended by our neighbor. Our heat went out on a Sunday. I called them Monday morning. They gave me a 3 hr window - same day - between 1:00 and 3:00. Tech (Carlos) showed up at approx 1:30. Replaced blown fuse and checked out furnace. Job completed in 20 minutes.

Eli will tell you what is needed, and they would come out only when they need to, and their charges are reasonable, and you can reach them over the weekend. They put a special pipe that is upright and you can pour the stuff down.

I've worked with them in the past, and they've been great! Our previous HVAC company told us we needed to replace the furnace, so I called this company to get a second opinion. They came out the same day we called and told us we didn't need a new furnace. They told us about a special they were running for cleaning/maintenance service, which took care of the original problem. Most recently, the part that was needed to be replaced was not in stock; they came out the same day that I called. The next day they showed up with a similar part that would keep the unit running, and then came out the third day with the actual part that was needed. They didn't charge me for each service call separately.

We had the fan motor go bad, and since the furance was over 43 yrs old we decided to replace it, and the AC unit. Ron was very good at responding to my questions, and providing a quote in a timely maner. They did a good job pulling out the old equipment, and installing the new furance, and AC unit. They cleaned up very well, and said they would come back to recheck the AC unit once the weather warms up.
