When we started having water seeping up through our floorboards on a holiday weekend I started calling plumbers in a panic. Donnie answered the phone and said he was more than happy to have someone come out on the holiday weekend for an emergency fee, but rather than do that right away he talked me through checking to see if this was something that needed to be taken care of or if it could wait till the week when it would be normal rates. Not only did he save us a lot of money, but he got members of his team first thing the next morning and they were able to diagnosis the problem as a leak in our water heater and get the whole thing replaced and up in running in about half a day. Every member of the team was polite, professional, and amazingly helpful. I cannot imagine having a better experience of replacing a water heater and they were able to salvage a really stressful weekend. We will definitely be calling them again should the need arise.

Cross County recently installed a new water main line into my house. Due to how the original builder had installed the water line (under the basement slab of my house), I was first skeptical that Cross Country team can actually pull the old pipe and install new pipe in its place. The project was led by Rickie and his crew. Although they have ran into multiple unforeseen challenges, Rickie never displayed any frustrations and always provided assurance to me that the work will be done no matter what. The pipes are now installed and I have my water back. By the way, Cross Country was able to install the new water line at a fraction of what other plumbers had quoted. Excellent work by Cross Country team. I would definitely refer them for all plumbing needs to anyone.

The plumber did a good job, explained what he was doing and why, answered all of my questions, and was very competent.

Have used Cross County before...owner, Donnie, comes out to give estimate and the next day his crew, Ricky and Mike,
arrive (on time) to get the job done.
Always pleased with the people and the work that they do.
Final bill is always lower than the estimate-
Love these guys!

Cross County was very professional and very honest, which I really appreciated. They installed a high-quality cast-iron sump pump to replace the cheap one our contractor had installed 4 years ago. I thought the price was very reasonable. I definitely would recommend this company to others.

Big Wow. You don't find customer service like this much anymore. Donnie was great, professional, responsive, educational, straight forward and worked with us to find the best cost effective solution. We were impressed from the get go. Anthony came to do the work, even on a Sunday, and was VERY impressive. So kind, knowledgeable, respectful, efficient, and good at his work. He even took the time to educate us on other plumbing issues, basically any question we could throw at him. Will DEFinitely refer them and use them again.

Our general contractor could not find a plumber that met our needs (among other things he couldn't find). The electrician referred us to Cross County Plumbing. They needed to inspect the job to give an accurate proposal. Some would simply bid based on drawings. These guys took time to inspect, ask questions, and get a full sense of the job before giving a quote. This meant they addressed other issues we might have overlooked. Instead of giving a low-ball bid and then surprise us with change orders, they gave a very fair price and over-delivered. They were not the lowest bidder... but were likely the best value. Their team is professional, courteous, and very responsive. They work to ensure your satisfaction as a customer... something very rare these days.
The key to a great service provider is not how well they handle normal situations, but how they respond when something goes wrong. The general contractor gave them bad information more than once. In each case, they assured us that stuff like that happens, we didn't have to worry about it, and it would be resolved. True to their word, they addressed each area of complexity with a smile. The general contractor certainly raised the complexity by doing tasks out of sequence and not providing responsive oversight. But, these guys insulated us (the homeowner) from that turmoil and just focused on delivering masterful results for us.
We had an issue with a small leak in the unfinished construction area one evening (which they said might happen since it was mid-job and we asked if they could turn the water back on). When we noticed the drop, we shut off the water and sent a text to our primary plumber on the job for them to address it in the morning. It was 8:00PM. At 8:10PM, he showed up to fix the issue so we could get the water back on.
I'm confident that the low bidder would have eventually cost more for an inferior job. The guys a Cross County routinely performed additional work to get things 100% right (even if we weren't sure what we wanted at first).
If you want it done right the first time, pay a few bucks more and get these guys. Of course, on the other hand, you could wait for the low bidder to mess up... and then call these guys. We're sure glad we called them first... next time we'll ask them for a referral to a general contractor.

Walked into basement barefoot to find carpet wet and soggy...removed wall boards and found a crack in large pipe connected to upstairs bathroom. not sure how long it had been leaking, but looked like it was awhile. On closer inspection found another crack where pipe enters basement floor. OMG--what to do...we have a plumber we love, but he is a one-man operation, and this looked like too large a job for him. Called neighbors and found one had just had that same drain pipe replaced (along with some other work and it cost $4400. ( Asked where she found the plumber she used, and she said Angies List)!!
Our son works in construction and suggested we call one he knows, Donnie at CROSS COUNTY PLUMBING. Copied 2 plumbers from “THE LIST”..planned on 3 estimates.
But Donnie was the first to arrive and we were so impressed with him (and were in a hurry) we never got any other estimates. We knew as soon as we met him, he was the man for the job. Told us truthfully he could not give a firm price until he got into it, may have to tear up the concrete floor- job could be as much as $2500.
The next morning his crew arrived, found it was not as bad as it looked. Went right to work and replaced the large pipe in a little over an hour, loaded up the (unused) jackhammer and concrete and were on their way. All three men we met were outstanding. Responded to our needs in a friendly and sincere manner. They could have charged us anything, done work that was not necessary, and we would not have known. It is a wonderful feeling to think there are still honest people in this world.

Donnie and Ricky have done several jobs for me over the past couple of years - excavating for and installing a new shower in my basement, fixing leaking toilet, and, most recently, replacing my ageing hot water heater. As in the past, they were prompt, efficient, tidy, and courteous. Highly recommend.
