COUNTERTOP COMPANY THE

It was a nightmare. Purchased granite for kitchen counter, island and mudroom on 5/21/08, today is 9/05/08 and they finally (sort of) got it right yesterday. Kitchen counter replaced 3 times for several reasons, i.e. granite broke twice and installed on an angle so the overhang was 1/1/2" on one end and at the other end it was 2 1/2", also the gap was so large where the back of the granite mets with the wall I could put my fingers down to the knuckles. The other countertop I had trouble with was in the upstairs bath. I ordered marble and apparently during fabrication they had broken off a very large section of one corner and opted to glue it together, I caught that before it was installed. There is NO professionalism, appointments were canceled several times which meant I was always rescheduling MY appointments and I caught them in lies. BEWARE!

Terrible experience. Was told the measurements could not be done for three weeks. Chose type of granite and style of countertop in display store and gave required deposit. Once measurer arrived was told that top could not be installed as single piece (was not told this at store) and that it would likely break in trying to install. Order was canceled over 4 weeks ago and deposit has never been returned. This is despite multiple voice mails and letters. Company simply does not respond.

We always knew what to expect and they made us feel very comfortable during the entire process. These guys are good. They completed the job when they said they would and it looks beautiful.

The project went really well. We placed our order at the store in Rockville, then a guy came out to measure (very thorough), then two weeks later the installers came. Finished product looks great. The only issue I had was with the sales staff. I think our salesperson (Sylvia) left half-way through the process. Her replacement (I don't even know his name), was basically non-existent. We had to send multiple faxes to confirm the order, there was zero follow-up from the store after making the appointments for the measurement and installation. One-third is due at order placement, measurement and installation. Well, the measurement and installation teams had the wrong amount, easily cleared up, but it took a phone call to fix it. Other than the corporate/sales side of the process, the workmen were outstanding.

You can go out and get your own countertop and they will install it for you. That's a really nice feature because that way you can get exactly what you want.

THE COMPANY WAS VERY NICE AS THEY SAVED ME MONEY. I DID NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE HASSLE OF BUYING THE CONCRETE. THE COUNTERTOP FIT PERFECTLY AND IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I EXPECTED.
