Fantastic --my expectations were exceeded. Michael the business manager was very helpful and explained my options. Mr Wilson performs the work is a miracle worker and fine artist. The work was performed quickly and at a reasonable price. I've attached a picture of the finished product. If only you saw is before.

Wonderful job done!!! They were very professional and discussed the job with me and did the work on one chime and it came out looking great. They completed the entire job very quickly and all of the chimes came out looking and sounding beautifully!!! They are now hanging in a church.

Mr. Williams is a true magician. I almost threw away some black and ugly old silver jewelry decided to give cleaning it a try. When I picked it up from Mr. Williams, I was blown away. The jewelry was gorgeous. I had forgotten what it looks like when it was new. What I brought to him was scratched , Tarnished and covered in black spots. Now I guess wow comments when I wear it. It is better than new. I fully recommend.

I have a set of Thai nickel-bronze tableware that had become badly stained with 30 years of use -- my wife insisted we take it out of service because it looked so tacky. I took it to Chevy Chase Plating and Polishing based on recommendations from my neighborhood listserv and could not be happier. Every piece looks better than the day I bought it - mirror-bright. Michael, the Asst Mgr,, was professional and friendly to work with, and kept me informed throughout. The job was done a day before promised. Not cheap -- about $10 per piece -- but worth every penny of it. I'm telling my wife this is very low-cost maintenance when you look at how long we can use it now.

On February 17, 2011 I took in four copper pots to be re-tinned and paid a deposit. I was told that the work would be complted by the 2nd week of March. It is now the second week of March and once again I have been told that the pots will be ready in a week or so. They claim they got backed up because of broken equipment, but they never notified me that there would be a delay, until I called in late March. Whenever I call, the owner acts like I shouldn't even call, because they will call me when the work is completed. Finally in May I called and told the owner I would pick up the pots the following week and if they were not finished I expected my deposit refunded. Two days later I received a call that the pots were ready. When I picked them up the only apology I received was "sorry it took so long."

Although I am not aware of any other local companies which retin pots, there are companies in other areas which have a good reputation (check chowhound.com) where you can ship pots. In spite of shipping costs, their overall costs are less and there is no tax. Their turnaround is supposed to be a week or two.

I was given an $800 estimate over the telephone that was more than doubled once the item arrived. The person giving the estimate over the phone assured me it was a "good estimate" during our first conversation even though the item was sight unseen. Price doubled once the item arrived at CC Plating. Manager/owner very rude on second estimate telephone call. I had already paid to have the daybed hauled to the business and I would have had to pay to have it returned. I agreed to pay the doubled price to restore the daybed and left it there. Bed is fine but paid double what I was promised and expected: $1,600 plus hauling it back and forth [$85 each way]. The time doubled as well: promised two weeks, job took 4+ weeks. I would never do business with this person again.
