At first I really liked this service - it was very convenient, fast, and my dog didn't have to get put in a crate at any point. The hair cuts themselves were never great - there were always a few places that were missed - but it was never so bad that it outweighed the convenience.
Then it drastically started to go downhill. They raised the price on me and did not tell me until they were already at my house. For the convenience, I dealt with that. Then on one particular occasion after my dog was groomed, he immediately came into the house shaking his head. Within 24 hours, his ears hurt so badly that he would cry out just when the wind blew on it. His ears were red and swollen, and we took him to the emergency animal hospital (since it was a Sunday). They told me that the hair in his ears had been ripped out so forcibly that his ears were raw inside and inflamed. A few days of extreme pain, constant drops and a couple hundred dollars later, he was better.
I should have stopped there. I should never have called back. But I thought that if I explained to the groomer what happened and asked her to not touch my dog's ears, it would be OK. I would just have to tell her about her mistake and how much pain he was in because of it, and surely she would make sure it would not happen again. I didn't think she meant to hurt my dog, so if I explained, it would be different next time and she wouldn't be as negligent.
So I scheduled an appointment via email, the same method I had used to make an appointment numerous times. After discussing appointment options, I picked an arrival time between 4-5 pm on Saturday 10/4. I received an email back that said and quot;You are confirmed.and quot;
They never showed up. They never answered my calls. They never answered my emails. I waited for hours after my scheduled appointment time, thinking they must just be running late or they certainly would have called. After it was obvious they were not coming, I thought, surely they will call me on Monday when they are open for business, and they will apologize for the error, and we will make another appointment. Nope. They have not replied to any of my calls or emails. Completely unprofessional.
I very much do not recommend this company.

My 15 year old golden retriever is very frail, doesn't stand too well, and can't negotiate stairs sometimes or jump up and down--she can no longer tolerate a full day at the groomers. Bark Style treated my dog so nicely and did such a beautiful job grooming her. She was not stressed at all afterwards. She looks fantastic and I would strongly recommend this company to anyone who has some type of a special needs dog.

Terrific job Matthew! The lovely matted Selby got a shearing and is so much happier for it.
Matthew had visited a couple of weeks earlier and we had postponed her hair cut as that arctic air blast was bearing down on us! I bought two different weights of and quot;RuffWearand quot; jackets and they are great and have kept Selby toasty in the latest cold spell. Anyway - back to the grooming. Matthew is very knowledgeable, has many years of experience and will give his opinion without sugar coating because that's what I asked for. I knew Selby would have to be cut very short as she had the misfortune to be losing her puppy coat while her adult came in all geared up for winter. Add the countless towel dries and her long coat had quickly got out of hand. Matthew has a good way with my puppy and while she didn't run into the van with her tail wagging, she was calm. I was expecting her to come out shaved but he managed to keep a few millimeters and that makes a big difference. Having his own equipment plus many years on the job gives him more options than other groomers may have access to. He is very good at what he does, and speaks well of the owners and work environment of Bark In Style. Once we know how quickly her hair grows back, we will get on a regular schedule - I've learned my lesson!

ALL'S I CAN SAY IS WOW WOW WOW!!! MANUEL CAME ON TIME, THE GROOMING AREA WAS SO CLEAN AND MANUEL WAS OUTSTANDING. YOU CAN TELL HOW MUCH HE LOVES ANIMALS, HOW KIND, GENTLE AND CARING HE WAS ABOUT ALL OF MY BABIES AND WOW DOES HE KNOW HOW TO GROOM. WE HAVE A DOG THAT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO GROOM AND IS ALWAYS VERY AFRAID AND HE WAS WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AGAIN, WOW WOW WOW!! WILL BE USING THEM AND SPECIFICALLY MANUEL AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!!!

The dog groomers were very polite and kind to my dogs. They were punctual, polite and responsive to my requests. The price was almost the same as when I had to drop my dogs off and pick them up later at a groomer.

I decided to use this service as I didn't want my dog to stay all day at a salon and be cooped up in a cage for 12 hours. In that respect this is a great service to use as they come to your home just do your dog and go. The company charges different amounts according to the breed but do not take much cognisance if you request a different cut to the regular one for the breed. I keep my dogs hair short for her comfort so there really isn't much grooming involved, just an all over clip, but I was still charged $90 for the cut ( plus $20 tip!) The groomer arrived early and said she wanted to get on with things as this was her last job of the day. That was fine with me but I was surprised when the whole groom from start to finish took 45 minutes. It wasn't until after she left that I noticed that she had pretty much shaved my dogs chest to bare skin and had not dealt with a bad matt in her tail. I think she was more focused on getting away than doing a good job. I didn't report my issues to the supplier so maybe this was just a one off case? Overall I like the concept of my dog being groomed at home as she doesn't have to be at the salon all day. I will however try a different supplier next time.

We have a six month old golden doodle and this was her first hair cut. We were nervous about doing this as she hates dryers and we have seen some pretty bad dog hair cuts and shaves but the poor soul has been so hot that after reviewing several companies, we took the plunge and are happy we did.
Hernin arrived within the time range and Selby took to him immediately. Hernin has a quiet, calm and friendly way about him - which is almost as important for first time owners as well as their dogs! I had pretty specific instructions as to what needed to be done, and what results I didn't want, and Hernin listened and followed through.
The van was clean and tidy and her wash and cut took about an hour. She looks lovely, her hair is down to about 1 1/2 inches in length (although we still prefer her shaggy look!) and her beautiful long eyelashes are still intact but she doesn't have hair falling in front of her eyes.
Selby walked back up the drive with her tail wagging although she was a little quiet for the first couple of hours.
We will use Bark In Style again - and request Hernin too

This is our first experience with a mobile groomer. Ayanna, the groomer, was right on time. She was warm and excellent with our dog. Listened to how we wanted her cut. Was happy to have us look in during the process. The cut was excellent and our dog spent the next hour looking at the door and crying for Ayanna. We will defintely use this company again, and ask for Ayanna.

I am in love with this service! I am new to Potomac and was worried about finding a service that would be easy for me and would give my dog a great low anxiety experience. The groomer was prompt, friendly, let me see the inside of the van, did an AMAZING job on the cut and was relatively quick. I really felt I got my monies worth. I have a new born at home and this service turned out to save me a lot of grief! In fact, Bark In Style will be here in 2 hours for our second visit. HIGHLY recommend!

Alana (sp?) was FANTASTIC! We have a 5 year old Cockapoo who hates grooming. I decided to use a mobile pet groomer so I could be close if she was struggling. Alana was professional, kind and did EXACTLY what I asked of her. Our pup was a bit matted but I did not want her shaved. I showed Alana pictures of how I'd like our pup to look and she nailed it! She worked out most of the mats and made our Coco look beautiful! I was so impressed and highly recommend this company and groomer! A+

The mobile came an hour earlier than the scheduled appointment time. The mobile left by the time we came home. When I called the company to find out what happend, the person on the phone described what happened but never applogized. This was an appointment we have been waiting for one month, so we were disappointed. When I called back and left the voice message to reschedule, nobody called me back. The company's handling was not professional and very disappointing.
