It was a disaster. Their tech arrived, and immediately began berating me for (in his opinion) needlessly storing our poop and Polaris pumps over the winter. There are some that think its ok to leave them hooked up over the winter, but easily as many who believe they should be protected. He hooked up the pump, threw some shock in the pool, added 4 chlorine tablets and left. I asked if he wasn't going to inspect the filter (we have a DE filter), and he said it wasn't necessary. I was surprised, to say the least. A quick check on the web revealed NO vendors who do not do this at least once if not twice a year. He was clearly lazy.
My wife and I left for a 8 day vacation, and when we returned, the pool was still murky. He'd been by once and just backwashed the filter and added more DE.
At this point I knew we had a problem. I called Atlantis, got their voicemail, and left a message saying we could not in good faith pay them $425 for the incomplete and poor job they did. I proposed to pay them half of this by barter. I've heard nothing back from them since then.
