Everything went very well.  Aras is extremely easy to deal with and takes pride in his creations.  We coordinated throughout the process.  He first did the computer aided design and then sent us a picture by email.  We went back to his store and viewed a larger picture, which he could rotate through three dimensions to give us a better feel for how it would look and how the original piece would be embedded.  He then produced the 3D printout in wax, and we went back to see how the original piece fit into it.  When we were pleased with the design, he produced the white gold octagon, embedded the original piece, and used a laser to spot weld them together.  The result was beautiful.

We are extremely pleased with the experience and would recommend Aras to anyone who wants a custom designed piece of jewelry.  He specializes in things like engagement rings, and we were very impressed by some of the pieces that he was working on at the time.  He is friendly and takes time to explain how he does the work, and we learned quite a bit in addition to receiving a beautiful piece of custom-designed jewelry.  He also sells jewelry that he hasn't produced himself, and his display has many interesting and unusual pieces.
