As part of our basement remodeling project, We needed asbestos tiles removed from our basement. Our contractor hired ACM services. They were very professional and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Their team showed up early, completed the job early and regularly kept us informed about the progress of the project. We are very pleased with their services and would highly recommend their company.

Not well. It first time we ever did asbestos remediation. I guess I asked too many questions about the process. They fired us before they even did the work! We had been planning the work and we were left completely screwed scrambling to find another company at the last minute which caused us a a delay as we had to start all over again interviewing companies. We reached out to company executives for an explanation as to why they refused to work with us after they agreed to. They didn't return our calls and were awful when my spouse showed up at the office asking politely for an explanation (told him we were "small fry" compared to all their larger, apparently more important clients and they were done with us). So why agree to do the work then in the first place? This company is not customer oriented and certainly not to the "average Joe". I'd suggest you try Diversified Environmental instead. We ended up going with them and they were great!

In preparation for a sump pump drainage system installation, we needed to remove all of the asbestos tile and mastic in our basement. Originally they quoted to only remove a minimal amount of mastic, to do the sump pump installation. But once they arrived and saw the space, agreed it would not be a big deal to remove all of the mastic. They did this for no additional cost. They worked quickly and left our space very clean. Not a glamourous process but they did what we needed them to do without any issues! Thats all we could ask for!

.Pete H. examined the job and gave me a written quote. very professional and polite. he promised to be gentle with the shakes underneath the asbestos. He provided a large crew on the day of service. The crew was suited up in plastic with masks or respirators.( I watched from across the street.) It was a 90' day. The cleanup was completed quickly. We are very pleased.

I needed to have vermiculite attic insulation removed in a house I had just purchased. (Some homeowners are fine with leaving it be--since technically the asbestos will only become a problem if the vermiculite is disturbed--but I felt it was better in the long run not to have to worry about having potentially cancerous material in my house.) I did a lot of research on how to properly have asbestos insulation removed before choosing companies, which were all properly accredited and licensed in the state, to give estimates. ACM's estimate was the highest by far (though they were willing to negotiate down a little based on other estimates I received) but I felt the most comfortable with them. They were professional, responsive, and well-known locally. They came early in the morning and took 2 and a half days. The crew was great--they were prompt, clean, and took all necessary precautions and the team leader, Jesus, was terrific. It can be overwhelming to have this kind of work performed but I felt comfortable having ACM take care of it.

Project Manager/Estimator Pete H. was wonderful to work with! He came out to the house and gave us an estimate and his recommendations. He was always available on his cell phone or email to answer our questions. The abatement crew was very nice and professional--they came out to the house when they said they would and cleaned up the work site before they left. The crew was very respectful of my property while they were there and they took me around the job site after they had finished to explain to me what they had done. The entire abatement process took a day and half. I would hire them again without question!

We had about 12 feet of asbestos insulation covering a steam pipe in the basement. It was fraying on one end, and was subject to drafts and other occassional disturbances. They showed up on time, and removed it using a glove bag. A glove bag is basically a big air-tight plastic cover over the asbestos with gloves built in. This allows the workers to remove the insulation without releasing particles into the house. After they removed the insulation, they cleaned the pipe and applied an encapsulant. As part of the job, they hired an industrial hygiene contractor from another company to be present during the operation monitoring the air for asbestos fibers. None were detected. They cleaned everything up and left. It was perfect, really.

They gave me an estimate over the phone, indicating that my job was probably too small. No hard feelings, I appreciated that they were upfront.

Dealing with ACM was a nightmare. I called them, they have a fancy voice mail system, it is impossible to get a human, one of those systems, I am sure we all know these type places! I pressed whatever for residential. Based on their response I think it is press one for commercial and press two thousand for residential, this is their priority for residential.
I left a message and the guy called me back over 24 hours later the next day and during lunch when I was eating with a client. I then called him back that afternoon and he never called me back.
I called him back the next day. Which was Friday. I then called back and pressed a lot of buttons on the queue to get to the receptionist. The person answering the phone could not have been less interested. Based on her performance I would say she was a temporary worker that probably walked out eventually. She was like just leave a message and he will call you back, there is nothing I can do for you, have a nice day, bye.
Asbestos removal is scary, dangerous and expensive. You should demand the best on asbestos removal. Not the worst. I would not hire ACM to remove asbestos from a doghouse. You probably can't hire them either, they don't return the residential messages.
What do you think they will do to you if you hire them? Trust me, they eventually will ignore you. Don't waste your time.

I had a water removal company do the cleanup work after 6 inches of rainwater filled the basement in my rental home. They found tile underneath the carpet and recommended its removal. Because of the age of the home, they sent the tile to be tested for asbestos before removal. The company that tested the tile (and the company that was recommended by the water removal company) was ACM. I played a game of phone tag (maybe 4 days or so total) with the person who handles residential abatement and eventually I went on their website to find an email address. I emailed him, and I thought that was going to go well when he asked what the address of the home was and said he would try to swing by their to provide an estimate. I replied quickly with the address and asked when he would be able to come, as I have tenants in the home and needed to notify them. I never heard back from him and finally gave up on ACM and went with a company I found on Angie's list that got the estimate and work done within 1 week.

They were prompt; they were dressed appropriately. they set up a barrier, and they executed the asbestos removal in a timely manner. They arranged for another company to come and take reading to make sure that no asbestos particles lingered.

Pete Heppner provided a thorough and complete estimate. A mutually convenient time was scheduled to perform the work. It was important for the customer to have all the work complete in one day; ACM assured and accomplished the required work in the required time period. Six personnel arrived and stayed the whole time to complete the work. Pete arrived at the beginning of the day to insure that all was going according to plan. The six workers worked hard the entire day and did a very professional job using excellent work techniques to contain any and all asbestos being removed. The after job testing was completed satisfactorily. ACM left the work area very clean. A very good experience for the homeowner.

I know that it is virtually impossible to remove 100% of the mastic from a concrete floor, but they probably got at least 95% of it, which honestly is better than I expected. They got 100% of the vinyl-asbestos tiles out of both bathrooms and the kitchen. As they (as well as two other licensed asbestos removal contractors who I spoke with) warned me, asbestos-containing mastic can't be effectively from plywood, so it is still on the plywood subfloor in the bathrooms, but they coated it in some special sealant (I don't recall the product name) to prevent it from becoming airborne.
I have not yet received the results of the post-removal air quality assessment. I will update this review when I do receive it. Overall [pending acceptable result of air quality evaluation] they did a very good and thorough job. Their workers arrived at 7 AM and were done by early afternoon.
Regarding the price: ACM has a $3000 minimum for asbestos removal jobs (at least for residential work in the District of Columbia they do). I was originally scared off by that and sought estimates from a couple of other companies with lower minimums, but both gave much much higher estimates (one in the $4500 range, the other was close to $5500) for this job, whereas ACM agreed to do the job for their $3000 minimum.

Started with an in-home estimate by John McGraw. He was professional, thorough and spent a good deal of time explaining the process, his thoughts and answering our questions.

Inevitably, we had other quotes -- and ACM's was a bit higher-- but they were flexible in working with us on this. So based upon that, as well as upon John's thoroughness and professionalism, we felt the most confidence with ACM and decided to use them.

On the date of remediation, they showed up with a full crew, and set up ahead of schedule. The precautions and safety processes were impressive and they even allowed me the option to walk thru the set-up (including the plastic sheeting enclosing the space) before beginning; so that i had a comfort level that this would not impact the rest of my house. The staff was very good and professional as well, and the on-site supervisor was very accommodating and responsive. And they even finished ahead of schedule.

While no-one want to have to go thru the expense or work of an asbestos remediation, ACM made it easy, they alleviated any of our concerns and were great to work with through and through. And our confidence in their ability to do it right - and safely - appears to have been well placed.

I had John from ACM come out and give me an estimate. They were very professional and gave me a good amount of information on exactly what they would do. About six months later, I contracted with them to do the job. They did a great job--wrapping the entire area in plastic and ventilating using some sort of vacuum system. I felt very confident about the work they did.

I started pulling up tile and afterwards thought it might be asbestos. I had to get it tested and any mail-in kit takes a week to arrive, and then two weeks to get results. ACM said that they could do the testing and have lab results within 48 hours. So I took off work, sped to Rockville in order to get my sample in their offices by their 4pm closing time. I arrived at 3.55 and I was told that the UPS guy had already left. annoying. A day and a half later, I called to see if the lab results had come in and a guy with a southern accent said that he expected them later that day. I asked him if he could give an estimate for how much it would cost to remove 600 sq feet of asbestos and he gave me a rough estimate. But when I did not hear from him in a few hours, I called back and the receptionist said that the lab results would not be in and I had to wait until Monday. I spent the weekend obsessing over asbestos and if I was going to die a slow painful death of lung cancer. I called ACM on Monday just before lunch. The receptionist had to check with the lab, and called me back 20 minutes later to give me the results. That was on Monday. It is Friday and I still do not have the lab report despite ACM having my email on file.

We are doing major renovation work to our home and ACM's work needed to be coordinated with our contractor. Pete came within a day or two after we called to give us an estimate and scheduled our work to be done a week later. While we were not on site while the work was being done, our contractor praised the work and how it was taken care of. Thankfully we have no more asbestos in this house but if we did, we'd immediately call Pete and ACM to take care of it.
