While coming into work, my check engine light came on and my car started to shake. I pulled into the nearest mechanic (A&G Automotive). Gordon was able to fix the issue in a short amount of time and charged a reasonable rate!

From start to finish, this was a classy operation. The representative scheduled my appointment carefully, took my car at the appointed time, and had it ready on time. As part of the service the mechanic checked many items, but there was no hard-sell attempt to convince me to add on services. I appreciated their whole professional, no nonsense approach.

Gordon was great. I took my Honda to 3 dealers and two independent mechanics. All of them said it was the Axel was the problem. Getting up to highway speed meant the engine would vibrate really bad. The first mechanic was a Honda dealer and they wanted to charge me and gt; $3200 and at least 2K of that was not necessary. None of the mechanics could figure out what was wrong and the dealer was charging me everytime I wanted them just to look at the issue. Yes, I have seen ratings for his labor rates as expensive compared to others at something like more than $80/hour; but when I think about what I actually paid and what he did to determine problem and fix, I think it was a bargain.
This is what builds strong customer loyalty and trust as far as I am concerned.

Gordon has been a great mechanic for our Acura and Honda. We first heard of Aand G from my husbands classmate who had been going there for years and highly recommended them. Gordon has performed routine maintenance on our vehicles as well as taken care of larger problems, all with fair and honest assessments.
For example, my husband took his car there because it was making a strange noise when it made a sharp turn. They checked it out, found a stick lodged somewhere underneath, took it out and it was good as new. No charge. I've taken my car there to get looked at as well and if there's something wrong they'll find it, but if not, they will tell you the car checks out. I appreciate not being fleeced for things that are unnecessary as some car repair places often do!
We really appreciate having Aand G around and he's been taking great care of our vehicles since 2008!

I think I finally found an auto repair shop I can trust. This was my first visit so I can only write about first impressions but I found the owner to be knowledgeable and honest, and his prices were fair. He searched the area to find the best price for a replacement radiator and the work was completed that day, as promised. There are a number of things wrong with the car (that we were already aware of) and he gave his frank opinion about those issues as well. He also provides a ride to the metro (walking distance is a little over a mile).
