I had good service in the beginning, but then multiple major errors happened and it became too much. I'll never return.

KC Automotive is wonderful! I started going to them a year ago based on the excellent reviews on angies list as well as reviews on our local community face book pages. These guys are HONEST! How refreshing to be able to bring my car into a car repair shop and know that whatever they tell me is honest!

Chris is great and the service is great. I have taken my car to different places to have
specific things done like tires etc because KC was more expensive. Another reason are their
hours. Not being open at all on the weekends is very inconvenient. 

I feel fortunate to live within a few mile's of KC Automotive and have been able to use them for all my family's car service needs for the last 15+ years.  Chris is 100% honest, fair and reliable - he's a real world 'common sense' person to talk with and his prices are better than the dealer's.
While I generally do my own oil changes, air filter, and tire rotations, it's good to know that Chris and his crew are there to service all my auto related needs in a timely and fair manner especially when I get behind on things or just need one of a car's 'bigger' service schedules done.  Some years ago Chris even installed a rear wing/spoiler on a new vehicle for me - a service he normally does not do - but which he did an excellent job with.
His shop location may be a bit hard to find the first time, but he's got a great shop and adequate parking once you pull in the driveway.
It's best to call ahead and check with Chris to book a time - he also has a drop box for night before drop off.

Overall, I really like Chris and KC Automotive.  They are very professional and competent.  The only reason I don't used them more is the location is a little far for me (They are Reisterstown and I'm in Cockeysville).

This provider was recommended by a Friend who says they do good work so I called up to get an estimate on getting a Timing Belt replaced.  I also got estimates from other shops and determined that KC Automotive had the most fair offer. 
This particular shop is very busy and I was warned ahead of time by my friend.   Since the work would take a couple of days to complete and I had no other source of transportation, I had to make rental car arrangements to get this work done in addition to making the appointment to getting this done 3 weeks in advance.
I brought the car in on a Friday morning and made arrangements for a rental car company to pick me up.  I called back to check on the status of the repair once late Friday and again on Monday morning (The shop is closed on Saturday) and both times I wasn't able to get a status and/or a day I could pick the car back up.  On Tuesday afternoon, I heard back indicating that my car would be ready to pick up in the evening along with the details of what they did when replacing the timing belt.
This shop does really good work and I can work most of the caveats into my schedule but that may not be the case for everyone.  For major repairs even though I may have to pay extra for car rental, it's more the peace of mind knowing that I will get repairs done right so for this reason I do highly recommend this shop.

Very professional. attentive to customer. Rate is reasonable

KC Automotive identified the issue and got the car back on the road in good time for a fair price.  KC Automotive is a hometown, personal service auto shop.  Navigating the sea of auto shops, it's difficult to find a place that believes in running a good business and serving with integrity and great character.  You might find somewhere a little cheaper in price, but for quality service and personal care, I rate KC Automotive second to none.

They have been good so far.

Finding an automotive repair business that was professional, prompt and efficient under one roof was unbelievable. When I called the business I spoke with the owner Chris, who was beyond friendly and helpful.  I dropped my Tahoe off on a Friday afternoon and on Monday morning I received a call from Chris with the repairs needed and a reasonable estimate.  By Wednesday the repair was done and I was so pleased with the work and professionalism from this business, I decided to have them give me an estimate on my BMW. On  Thursday morning Chris again promptly called and gave me a reasonable estimate on the repairs needed.  The vehicle was completed and was ready Friday morning.  Two vehicles repaired in one week = WOW!!! This business is truly an A+ company and a gem to find in today's world of questionable auto repair businesses. This will be my automotive repair shop as long as I live in or around Baltimore County.

They were very good.  I was really happy with them.  I had issues with a mice nest and they were very good and didn't act like I had done something to cause it. They were excellent, prompt, and professional.  Really friendly and professional. The guy who ran the office was very nice, professional, and friendly.  As a woman I have felt talked down to by mechanics, there was none of that at this place. They are great.  No complaints at all. I would take major problems to them with full confidence.

The repairs were done quickly and at a reasonable price .Then I wanted good tires made in the USA.  Chris took time to search and call
around and locate the tires I requested.  I came back, and the tires were done quickly.  Chris was very honest with me, and I will
return.

After experiencing the shifting issue while commuting home I called KC Automotive at 5:45 pm, after listed closing time, and Chris answered the phone very politely and said they'd be happy to take a look at the car if I could bring it in tomorrow and he'd call in the morning to let me know what they found.  I inquired about a drop box and he explained where it was, so we dropped it off that night.

My only gripe is I wished they'd called the next day in the morning, but I called at 11am and Chris let me know they'd not had a chance to look at it yet.  Around 4pm they called to let me know they couldn't replicate the problem and asked if I could leave it again so they could take another look at it.  The following day around 1pm Chris called and let me know that even after the mechanics and Chris himself drove around they couldn't feel an issue.

Much to my surprise Chris said that since they didn't do any work to the car that I didn't owe them anything.  That's even though they scanned for engine codes, checked under the hood, and took the time to drive around several times.  In my experience, a dealer would have charged plenty of labor hours to do all that!  And sure enough when we picked up the car it wasn't acting up, so I can appreciate the issue must not have surfaced while they had it and nothing was obviously wrong.  

Given the company's friendliness, their willingness to be persistent hunting the issue, and then being customer oriented not to charge just to investigate, I will definitely look to KC Automotive in the future.

When I called Chris was very friendly, he shared with me when to bring my car in. When I brought my car in, once again a very friendly atmosphere. I was getting an oil change and therefore I waited. Chris was very personable, shared how he and his family got into the business. Although I did not have to spend very much (I am thankful), for me this experience was more than good customer service. I could feel how passionate Chris is about what he does. I will be returning.    

He explained the issues my truck had and what needed to be repaired.  When I went to pick up my truck, he went over the invoice in detail and took plenty of time to answer my questions.   I looked up the approximate cost for repairs online and his rates were all below or at the average cost.

Needed 2 new tires.  They ordered them quickly and the date of my appointment everything was done professionally and in a timely manner.  They explained everything that needed to be done and how much it would cost, approximately.  The cost was right on target.  They are very friendly and accomodating.  I needed a ride back to my home while the car was in their shop, and that was no problem at all.

They were great!  Family run.  Responsive.  Honest. Couldn't ask for more

Bought a new used car, and had these guys give it the 'once over'. They are thorough and honest. We have used them for years for lubes, breaks, etc, and always completely satisfied.  They won't do a service just for the money. Several times I've brought a car in wondering if certain things needed to be done, and they say, 'not yet'!  Love these guys!
