Dick and his son replaced our slate backsplash and did a wonderful job. This included having to tear out the drywall and replace it. They were on time, cleaned up, etc. I would definitely recommend them.

Dick came out looked at the job. He seemed to really know is stuff so I didn't contact anyone else. I had many boxes of leftover tile from this bathroom so I asked him to take out a few rows of tile and put in the mosaic to update the look. If any tile broke that was fine I had boxes of tile . Also he was going to take out the shower pan the builder put in and install a new one and retile. I also had a different contractor make a frameless shower door that went on and around a shower seat. When he brought the shower drain I said I had requested brushed nickel this one is chrome. He said ok I'll use this on a different job. Before he left for the night I reminded him to get brush nickel to match all the new hardware. He without asking brushed the chrome one and installed it.Brushed chrome does not match brush nickel. I totally trusted him and when he came downstairs and was finished I gave him a check.Big Mistake. I went upstairs and the brushed chrome was installed and I was having the doors put on. The next day I noticed the chrome drain was all chipped and contacted Dick. He said he would bring out a new one. The problem is the one he used doesn't come in brushed nickel. He put in a new chrome one. The collar around the drain is still chipped it cannot be changed its part of the drain. The drain is also on a slant it doesn't sit straight. There is a dip in the floor but i told him not to fix that because I would need more tile if any broke and I was worried about the integrity of the floor underneath. So I have a chrome slanted drain. The shower needs to be redone, but the new door would have to come off first. The doors were $2000.00, so I'm concerned about the cost of taking them off also they were coated so it would be easier to clean. I also had him change out some of the mosaic that was put in very sloppy. I bought the new mosaic tile. He said it was hard to fit it in the space. I said well you could of taken more of the tile out underneath put in the mosaic and than retiled just cutting the tile a little shorter. I would have gladly paid extra if I was asked. I wasn't
told about the tight fit until I complained about the job. So now the mosaic is ok but could of been better. The lesson I learned is never pay for a job until its done to my satisfaction.I don't know the exact date just that My husband and I decided to do this for our anniversary which was March 2014.

Update:  1/15/15--Dick the owner came back and addressed my concerns.  He is laying a new shower floor which corrects the issues.  He is very sincere and I appreciate that.  I would recommend him because a lot of contractors would not have come back and he did.

Dick's team were very professional, detailed and thorough in the work that they do...They do not rush and make sure that if a piece does not fit quite right that they cut another. Cleaned up each day and did an excellent job....Highly recommended and can be trusted, they did what they said they would do and were very accommodating...

Dick was a pleasure to work with. He helped get my bathroom finished in a timely manner. And his work is exceptional. The work was done the winter we had back to back monster snow storms and dick was still able to get here and finish up his work as soon as the streets where cleared. I will defiantly use dick again when I have tiling needs .

.Dick and John Edwards did a beautiful job with great attention to detail. Unfortunately, I did not follow the golden rule of "measure twice, cut once" and did not order enough tile to complete the job. For a minimum setup charge, they came back a week later and completed the job. They were kind enough to cut a piece of kitchen flooring tile to replace one that was previously cracked. Unlike the light colored backsplash grout, the floor grout was dark brown, and I thought sometime down the road I'll buy some grout and figure out how to match it. It wasn't until several days later that I noticed that the floor tile had matching dark brown grout. How very thoughtful!

Dick Edwards, the owner of this family business, was recommended to me by a good friend of mine who is an Interior Designer. She has used him many many times over the years for the homes she designs and has used him for her own home as well. He has been in the tile business for approximately 30 or more years. Dick estimated the job would take 2 weeks and it did. Another contractor gave me an estimate that was twice the price and would take 3 weeks instead of two. He was always prompt, easy to reach, easy to deal with and very neat, putting up plastic curtains to contain the dust and dirt. He installed 18 inch tiles with small square inserts at the entrance and then discontinued the inserts as he went into the kitchen area. Everything was calculated perfectly and looks beautiful. I was very pleased with the job and I have already recommended him to others.
