Called at 8AM and Greg arrived as promised at 11AM. Promptly diagnosed problems and repaired both units within an hour. After restarting both units, he left with a promise to return in two hours to make sure all was well. Greg returned as promised and identified an intermittent thermostat issue which he debugged and fixed. Appreciated the quick follow up. Have been using Patuxent HVAC for 7 years with consistently good service.

We needed a new heat pump,l and I probably got about eight estimates. Patuxent not only had the best prices, but they also were very knowledgable, professional, explained all the options clearly, knew how to fix some of the "comfort" problems we were having with the old system, and promptly returned phone calls and emails! They honored the Angie's list coupon and submitted the paperwork to get me the SMECO rebate. The owner is a "Master" level HVAC contractor. I would highly recommend them.

Job went very well. Job was done over two days. Crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and made sure work area was clean after they finished.

The install went well, but found the cost a little on the high side.

I looked into heating mostly. We were having problems with our system and the company that we used to use, we couldn't get a hold of them. So we were looking around and we did end up getting a hold of them. We were looking because we were having a hard time getting a hold of the company that installed it and it is called Patuxent Heating & Air Conditioning. The cost was very little because our system is under warranty. The last time was fine. There was just one time. I don't know if he was having issues or what kind of issues were going on, there was one time that we didn't ask for his service but we have been happy with them. They put it in and they are fine. We have been using them for years and there was just one time that we had an issue with them. We have used them since and it has been fine. The grading on price is hard to know sometimes but we were happy with the price. The quality of the service was real good. They are real professional.

Greg was very prompt, responsive and courteous.  He even came out on Saturday to finish the job.  I love that I even got a call back. I will definitely call Patuxent again for any repairs and replacement.

I had a bad capacitor on my heat pump. I called early morning and they were able to come out by noon. They luckily had a capacitor that worked on the truck. Took about 20 minutes.

Called at 12:05 pm saying that they were en route for a 10am-12pm appointment window.

The whole job went perfectly.  Greg and his crew had the whole system replaced in 8 hours.  They were truly a pleasure to deal with.  I can honestly say I wish all contractors were as caring and honest as Greg.  He sold me the unit I needed, not something more expensive that I didn't need. They made sure everything was working properly and cleaned up their work area when complete. I would highly recommend Patuxent Heating and Air to everyone.

Owner Greg Vermillion and crew arrived promptly. After job got started, Greg left for other service jobs. The crew worked efficiently and professionally. Precautions were taken to protect interior of home. Workers cleaned up before leaving and old heat pump was taken away . Greg returned when job was done and checked everything out. Greg was very prepared. He gave us the SMECO rebate and compressor lifetime warranty info we needed.
Since the Amana heat pump has a variable speed blower, we had Greg come back to lower the speed.  We also needed to have the circuit breaker increased to 50 watts. Greg was very responsive to our needs after the job had been completed.
Getting an Amana heat pump vs. a Carrier saved us about $2000 and also came with a lifetime warranty on the compressor. Don't know much about heat pumps. Would prefer if the auxiliary heat would not come on with in 1 1/2 degrees of temperature set. Also, the variable speed blower is adjustable except when the auxiliary heat is on. In auxiliary heat mode, blower speed is on high. For all I know all heat pumps now days function this way. Other than these two details we are very happy with the Amana heat pump.

Everything turned out great! I worked closely with owner. They were very professional, responsive, and on time. They completed the work they were supposed to.

I have used Patuxent Heating and Air before and I have never been sorry.  I knew when I got a $900 SMECO bill that there was something wrong.  Greg came out right away and explained to us how our old system was fried and offered options.  The system was the original to the home so we knew it was time to replace it.  He gave us a great price on the unit and it is amazing the difference it has made.  Him and his crew completed it in one day and left their work area clean.  Greg is reliable, knowledgeable, good prices, and doesn't try to sell you things you don't need.  I will always call him first.

He also offered to look at the unit to double check any other issues and while it is old he said other than an annual checkup he saw no need to worry about anything else.

Greg came to check system problem the same day I called.  Turned out there was nothing wrong.  He took the extra time to check the thermostat setting for backup heat switch-over.  Very polite, will definitely use again.

Two words to describe this company "Quality Service"   They were on time, professional, courteous, friendly, clean working and very knowledgeable. My new system works beautifully not to mention they gave me the best price I could find. Greg and his crew  are definitely top notch.
