We first saw peteciae on Riley's stomach Dec 24th 2011, and he went to a vet in Georgia on Dec 26th. The initial diagnosis was that he had ingested rat poison, which mystified us because he is never out on his own. When we got back to Potomac on Dec 30th we took him to our vet, Dr Popa, who was skeptical about the diagnosis, thinking instead that it was immune mediated hemolytic anemia. We did not start treatment right away, sticking instead with the treatment for poison, but our little Riley went downhill rapidly over New Years Eve and Day. We started him on drugs for IMHA on the 2nd. By the 4th he was responding -- looking much better, but we were just at the beginning of a very long haul. Dr Popa tried to keep us realistic about Riley's chances and countering the side effects of the drugs he was on. I have never felt so convinced of a vet's competence -- he was always there with the answers, and if he didn't know, he'd say so and then go find out. He really went out of his way to care for our Riley, who is now well again.

I have three cats and three dogs.he knows every single one of them and what has been going on. recently he did all their wellness exams and tests so we are proactivly checking for things as they get older.they all are in good shape becaseu of what he does for them.

Very comprehensive with time for questions. Every appointment for our two cats has been thorough and handled with empathy. Also, all questions are answered. Where possible, Dr. Popa gives you options, being aware of family budgets. Where warranted, he also will give you printed material to read about a pet's condition which is very helpful.

Dr Popa and his team are very professional and adore the animals entrusted to them. Dr Popa is a wonderful vet! He's the best I've ever encountered.

They are a very good animal clinic, and they really know what they're doing. They're not cheap at all, but the knowledge that the people who work there have is great. I feel comfortable with taking my pets there.

The vets there are wonderful people. They are very loving toward animals. I have always been happy with the diagnosis that he provides. I know they treat dogs as well. The entire staff is great! I have been using them for awhile.
