Brought my car in for service, warranty repairs and a state inspection. The service was done satisfactorily. The warranty repair required a part to be ordered. I was told the part would be in the following Monday or Tuesday. The state inspection was done.
Now comes the not so good. I was charged twice the going rate in the area for the inspection. Having recently moved to Maryland I was used to the price for state inspections being set by the state, so I did not originally question the price. Since I needed a second car inspected and could not leave both cars I then called other places where I found out that Pittsville Ford's prices were way out of line. When I questioned them they stated that they didn't like to do inspections so they charged high prices. They would not adjust their price to a reasonable level.
I was told by the dealer that they would call me when the part came in. Since it was promised Monday or Tuesday I called later in the afternoon on Tuesday to find that the part was already in. I don't know when I would have heard from them if I hadn't followed up.Does this disqualify them as a service provider? I don't know, but I feel I was significantly overcharged and service did not live up to expectations. I would urge caution before selecting them for service.
