Mr. Wimert is a very satisfactory brick mason with high quality work and technique. He presented himself as knowledgeable and competent to install our natural thin stone veneer work, but the pace of his installation and subsequent issues arising from the installation did not accurately reflect that assertion. He described himself as a "slow mason" and trust me, that is true. He rarely arrived for work prior to 11:00 A.M. and often disappeared for days at a time. The other subcontractors for the construction of our new house were often delayed by his equipment being in their way and the general mess of the masonry project that never seemed to end. Ultimately, after taking over six months to build our fireplace and chimney and install 1000 sq. ft. of natural thin stone veneer, we had to terminate his contract and hire another masonry contractor to complete the final 1000 sq. ft. of work. As the job dragged on, the quality of the work also decreased as he tired of the job.
Description of Work: Built two fireplaces, one a Rumford fireplace with a herringbone brick pattern in the firebox, and a three story chimney. Also installed real thin stone veneer over the entire exterior of the chimney, the interior fireplace wall, and a two story interior wall in the house foyer. Installed natural thin stone veneer on three exterior walls.
