They do a great job w/ Spring and Fall cleanup, and mulching, too. Competitively priced.
Blake is a very personable young man, as is always here every week with his crew, working as hard as any of his members.
Highly recommended.
In October 2013, we had two concerns with the provider's billing practices. The first issue occured early in the month. I was at home on the day that the provider came to mow the property, and observed the service being provided. The crew was at my property for less than 5 minutes and did not mow the entire lawn; they spot-mowed one or two small locations, and then immediately left. I received a bill for the full lawn. I paid the bill with a letter explaining my concern. The provider did attempt to contact me, but we did not actually speak. My feeling was that it was unreasonable to charge for full-service when full-service was not performed.
I then received a second bill that included a full-service charge for a day at the end of October after the leaves on my trees had fallen. Becuase the leaves remained undisturbed on the ground, it is clear that no lawn service was performed on that date. At that point, I was no longer confident that the provider was accurately billing me, given two known occasions during which I was charged for incomplete service. I went ahead and paid the provider as billed, but sent an accompanying letter asking the provider not to return to my property.
I was billed for every week during the month of October, despite the fact that the grass was not growing at a rate that necessitated that degree of service (apart from the bill stating which dates service had occured, I would not have been able to tell you if they had been there or not on a particular week). However, as noted above, full service was apparently not provided for at least two of those five weeks. I suppose one could speculate that the provider was trying to generate increased end-of-season income, or that, alternatively, that it is typical practice at the end of season to increase the frequency of mowing for a specific reason that I am not aware of. However, our concern was that (1) the provider did not explain to us that there would be increased frequency of service at the end of the season despite the fact that the grass wasn't growing, and (2) as noted above, we believe that full service was not being provided at least some of the time.
To be fair to the provider:
(1) For the majority of the season we were happy with the service and the quoted price per service. Our concern was more with the credibility of the billing process, and we decided that for next year we would be more comfortable with someone else providing services for our property. I am confident that for the majority of the summer I was paying a fair price for consistent and satisfactory service.
(2) Additionally, I would note that I did not speak with the provider. I opted to pay the complete bill alongside a letter expressing my concerns on both occasions and suggested that if the provider agreed that I had been unfairly billed, that he might be able to refund some of my payment, or, in the alternative, provide an additional service to compensate for the apparently excessive billing. Again, on the first occasion, the provider did attempt to contact me a single time and I did not actually speak with him. Because I received the subsequent bill with the second disputed charge before I was able to return his call, I opted to discontinue service. He did not attempt to recontact me after my second letter, which is fine because at that point I had terminated future service.
If you chose to use this provider, it may be in your interest have the provider specifically explain what their billing policies are and what to expect in terms of frequency of service during the duration of the season.
"As the owner, I am personally on the truck. While mowing efficiently, it is unfeasible to be able to load/unload a truck in five minutes, yet alone service a property in that time frame. I responded to you promptly with a phone call and voicemail in response to a note that you sent along with a check in the mail. I also made a written note on your next invoice that was sent out at the end of the month to please call at your earliest convenience and that a voicemail had already been left for you. You never returned the phone call or attempted to call at all, while still continuing to use my service and suggesting in your note that maybe leaf removal could be provided free of charge. You were not cut every week in October and you were never billed for a service that wasn't completed, nor would you have paid for service that wasn't provided. If you would like to discuss this, please feel free to call. There is a reason why my name is attached to my company because I stand behind my work and take pride in what I do."
