+ -1 moreMany oil companies will not service a furnace unless one is their customer, i.e. purchase oil from them. I had had an auto-delivery account with Clipper for two years. I listed my house for sale in December and asked that I be placed on a ''will call'' status. Nobody was living in the home and oil usage was minimum. The furnace required service. Clipper came in on four separate occasions to service the unit...each time for the same reason, each time the same "repair", and each time a charge of $90 per trip out. On the third instance, the unit was said to be cleaned, inspected, and certified to be operational. The tech "guaranteed" no more problems, yet the same thing occurred. Clipper serviced the unit once again, refusing to recognize their ''guarantee''. The EXACT same service was performed on FOUR separate occasions!! After having paid over $500, I attempted to discuss my concerns, only to be yelled at and informed that they had done me a ''favor''! Now they want more money!!
Description of Work: Experienced trouble with furnace. It would shut down randomly and not ignite. I had to have Clipper Petroleum service this unit. Initially, they removed a "safety valve" of sorts, telling me that it was not necessary. They then convinced me that I was out of oil, though my gauge read 1/4 full (60 gal) and the driver agreed that I had "plenty of oil in tank". I had to have this unit serviced THREE additional times, all due to the same problem.
