A 3-4 week job turned into 6 months all during the time I had a newborn baby! Was not reliable, many times when outside vendors were to work with him ie: permits, plumbers, electricians, carpet installers etc. no one would show as we were told they wouldn’t get back to him. Seeing the shoddy work of our basement they probably didn’t want to work with him. His painting overall was sloppy, our kids playroom had stripes-totally uneven and paint streaks in various spots. Molding throughout basement already splitting, electrical socket covers still have cut outs showing. We paid over $2k for new carpet to be professionally installed-instead of hiring someone who specializes in this he butchered our carpet and do it himself! Seams showing everywhere-not stretched to the walls so cement still showing-even got random paint stains on new carpet. Lastly he did our basement bath-shoddy work there as well. Paint totally not neat with splatter marks on a brand new $500 marble top vanity. Installed hand towel bar upside down. Railing made to match existing railing for stairs-stained different color even though he said he matched it. Even sanded it against the grain so it looks ridiculous. I def would not recommend his services. We reached out 4 times since he finished in September to fix these issues and he has ignored every call and text. He has since changed his company to Remodeling and Woodworks by steve Reitz. Trust me-I’m saving people a headache and money.

I first met Steve Reitz, owner of Shoreline Remodeling, while he was employed with another construction firm.  My first impression of Steve was that he paid extremely close attention to detail, in fact, I'd go as far as to say that Steve is a bit of a perfectionist.  He's not happy until his work is perfect especially when he's putting his reputation on the line.  It's been my experience that Steve's prices have always been more than fair.  Steve became dissatisfied with his previous employer and decided that he wasn't going to work for someone who cut corners and it seems to me that he quickly discovered that the only way to do that was to go out on his own.  I can speak to the quality of his work and his dedication to getting the job done right.  I've used Shoreline now for more than a few jobs, mostly to correct the issues that his previous employer did incorrectly.  If you have a need for a good contractor who is always up front, honest, punctual, and provides service at a reasonable cost.  I encourage you to seek him out for a quote.  For what it's worth, Steve is the only contractor that I would trust to work in my home without me being present.  I trust him completely.  To date, Shoreline Remodeling has:
hung cabinets in my kitchen
added lighting to my attic
completed custom cabinetry and "built-in" bookshelves around my fireplace
built custom "built-in" bookshelves in my child's room
added insulation to my attic
installed a new sump pump in my crawl space
added insulation around my chimney and underneath my wood flooring to fully winterize my home
run wiring under the floor and through the wall in my office
added outlets in the floor of my living room and office
installed ventilation fans/ducts for bathrooms and run vent hood duct work to the exterior of the house
mounted a television on my office wall
installed ceiling fans
repaired door swing on perimeter doors to winterize the house
...and these are only the items that I can remember.  The average cost for each of these jobs was less than $500 with materials, some were higher, some were lower depending on the complexity of each.
If you're really busy like I am and keep saying, "I'll get to it next weekend" and never seem to have the time to do it much less, the time to get to it, and then get it wrong and have to go back and do it again, I can't recommend Shoreline enough.  This is the best compliment that I can give Steve and his company.  Saying thank you is good but paying it forward is much better, I think.
