I could not wait and was unable to account for the actual cost of repairs and grossly undervalued the amount of repair needed to the property. That was 100% my mistake, but my main issue was with the timeliness of their report back to me. The quality of the work performed was good and thorough and based on other people's responses I'm sure they are a great company. I plan to have them do the repair work for the chimneys at my house, but plan to wait until I can save up!

We had kept an A rating on angieslist because of how we make each customer a priority. The estimate you were waiting on is something that unless it is a safety issue, it normally takes us some time. Especially during our busy season in the fall and winter as our customer base has grown significantly in the last few years. I did locate your ticket and I see where the technician noted that you may benefit from a chimney extension, however there was no mention of an estimate needed. If you are still interested in the work, let us know and we can definitely give you an estimate and schedule the work for you in a few weeks, if you would still like it completeted. -As an architect and military engineer I often play dumb to see how honest contractors are with me... James left me impressed with his honesty and forthrightness to say the least.
-James will take the time to explain in detail ever thing that is required and why it is important not just now but in the future.
-We had a number of other contractors provide estimates with little in the way of "how and why" how they arrived at their estimate much less what exactly was included in the scope. Each of them was always in too much of a hurry to make sure we understood.
-James and Old Line team won't do that and are clearly interested more in the long term relationship as well as ensuring we received a solid project.

"I recently read your review of our service and would like to give our side of the events that happened. We are unsure as to why your review is negative. An appointment was made by our office for a chimney cleaning and an installation of a chimney cap. The price quoted on the phone was $318.00. That is a very fair and reasonable price for this service. Our technicians arrived promptly at your home on the day the work was scheduled. While the work was being performed you became increasingly argumentative as to the price we quoted you and our technician was caught off guard by your behavior. After the work was completed, the technician asked for payment where you then handed him a pre-printed check for $318.00 dollars. The check was printed by your husband and left for you to give to them. Our technician was not unprofessional, he was very uncomfortable by your actions. In regards to us never calling you about an estimate, there is nothing on your service ticket that indicated you needed any remaining work, therefore an estimate would not be required. It is very out of character for us to receive these kinds of comments as our family owned business is run professionally and we take great pride in our customer service."
