They worked on the Honda engine on my generator when others would not, quickly and thoroughly diagnosed the problems and fixed them promptly, really good communication and made it easy to work with them. Much appreciated!

Great. They told me when I would have an estimate and were on time with that. They Proceeded with the repair and had it ready when they said promised. Overall a simple and easy process. There was nothing to worry about because it Went exactly as others had told me about on Angie's list

I have a battery operated Neuton lawn mower. This was a repair shop which Neuton referred me to, since many shops in the area don't work on this type of mower. I took the mower in on 5/2 and was told that there was a backlog of items needing repair and that it might be a week or so before they would be able to work on my mower. The shop was filled with many mowers...riding, push, etc, so it seemed to attract a lot of business. The person, who, initially, looked at the mower seemed hopeful that it could be repaired and seemed to have a relationship with the manufacturer (suggesting that if there was a problem, that they would call to seek consultation or parts, if needed.) Although I needed to pay someone to cut my lawn one or two times while awaiting the repair, I was happy that the repair was completed. If they had not been able to fix the broken item, I would have been facing replacement of the mower for $300+ I definitely would use/recommend this shop.

Jack's told me I had to pay a 30.00 estimate fee that would be applied to the repair, I HATE that practice but went with it. I was called the next day and told that my lawnmower needed a new carburetor and that they got the mower to start and run by spraying hot start in the carb. They told me compression was fine but needed a new carb because it would not stay running. Then he told me repair would be 200.00 and basically talked me out of it " do you really want to spend 200 dollars on a 200.00 mower?" I came and picked up the mower and took it to another repair shop, he fixed my mower in 25 minutes. When he removed the carburetor there was NO GAS in the carb. JACK'S COULD NOT HAVE WORKED ON OR STARTED MY MOWER like they claimed. I went back and asked owner for my money back, after some argument he reluctantly gave me $15 dollars back. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE

I brought it in on a Tuesday and it was ready on Friday. The pump was activating and putting pressure on the engine, making it impossible to start. The solution was to press the gun to release the pressure when starting. Everything was explained over the phone and again at the shop (started on 2nd pull). I was charged only the $30 minimum fee for everything. Great service and definitely recommend Jack's.

Drop off was issue free and they were very professional. Unfortunately, I elected to pick up the generator the Saturday before hurricane Sandy so they were overwhelmed to say the least.

My lawn mower would not start. Jack's diagnosed the problem within two days and called me with a price to fix it. All work was completed the next day. I found the staff at Jack's to be professional and very responsive. I would not hesitate to use their services again.

After a very bad experience at Severna Lawn and Power (several weeks of the part isn't in or it will be ready next week - and then wasn't), I took my rear wheel drive push mower to Jack's Lawnmower Repair. Jack's was professional, gave me an estimate within 48 hours and had the drive mechanism repaired within 4 days

I found Jack's Lawnmower Repair on Angie's List and took the mower there for service. I was required to pay a $35 and quot;diagnostic feeand quot; which would be applied toward the repair should I choose to use their repair service.
I was called later that afternoon and told that the cord had become tangled and would need to be straightened out and that he and quot;would have his mechanic get on it right away.and quot; I was told the mower would be ready by noon the next day and that it would cost $95. I thought this was a heckuva lot of money to pay to straighten out a cord - but of course I had already given them $35 and that would be money down the drain if I didn't let them do the repair . This and quot;diagnostic feeand quot; stuff, especially for small motor repair work, is a business practice I find not only shady but am almost disgusted by it - the fee was outrageously high (on par with a motor vehicle diagnostic fee, which is worth a heckuva lot more than a push mower) and they had my mower, which is in excellent condition. I can understand asking for a deposit on work where there is no product to hold hostage, or charging a deposit on a and quot;case by caseand quot; basis - for example, if someone brings them a mower that is worthless. But charging me $35 to and quot;diagnoseand quot; ensures that they will get to do the repair work because I'm already heavily invested in the repair and it's something I need done quickly (gotta' mow the lawn), and so they can overcharge me for the repair because I'm pretty much and quot;stuckand quot;.
As it was still very early afternoon when he called with the and quot;diagnosisand quot;, I thought that and quot;by noon the next dayand quot; was a bit of a long time to take if his mechanic was going to and quot;get on it right away.and quot; I asked if it could be a bit sooner because I would not be able to pick it up after about 11:30 the next day or so, and was told and quot;that's OK, you don't have to hurry to pick it up.and quot; Actually, I did, because my lawn was in *dire* need of mowing when I tried to start the mower and discovered it was broken.
Noon the next day came and went; no phone call from Jack's Lawnmower Repair.
The following afternoon, just as I was about to call them to see what the heck was going on, I got a call saying my mower was ready for pickup. The cord does pull now and they did clean and shine the mower up.
If my mower breaks again I would not take it back there quite simply because the charges are too high and the cost of a second repair, coupled with the price I've already paid to have a cord rewrapped, would buy me a new mower.

Overall, the the repair experience was excellent. They were courteous when I dropped off the blower, called within a day with a detailed explanation and an estimate, and performed a timely repair. When I picked up the snow blower, they offered advice for future use and summer storage.

Jack's Lawnmower Repair is an independent neighborhood small engine and lawnmower repair shop. They provide a straighforward estimate of the time and cost to do a repair, and in my experience 'overdeliver' on their estimates.
