Very unprofessional and rude technician. Bad customer service. They have a well earned F on Angie's List. The only reason we used them was because of our warranty company American Home Shield. Would definitely never have used if they were not forced on me.

TERRIBLE They made the problem worse instead of fixing it.

Terrible. They "fixed" wiring but that didn't work. Then they said it is the door latch. The door latch will prevent it from not stopping?? They said they ordered a part but it has been over 2 weeks with no delivery date in sight. It is just a Frigidaire, not a European model!

Originally contacted them almost a month ago to repair the refrigerator and it took around 6 days for the initial visit (it was an emergency and that was conveyed from the beginning, since it stopped working and leaked all over my kitchen floor. Repair man showed up with NO PARTS IN HAND, took a look at it and said it will be next week before he can return. He came back the following Tuesday with the fan, installed it left. I noticed that night that the refrigerator wasn't getting cold at all. Notified the office and besides getting a person with a horrible attitude and refused to accommodate our needs (all the while all the food is going or has gone bad already for the second time). After several attempts the repair tech showed up with a another part ensuring us that it would be the fix all. That was last week and the temp in the fridge is warmer than the air temp in the house with it constantly leaking water from the condenser freezing, defrosting and Re-freezing.

When this long drawn out process began I refrained from calling the "BIG" service providers because I believe in buying local and giving back to community that I live in, not someone 4000 miles away. I was quite mistaken because this company couldn't fix a ball from bouncing never mind repairing a large appliance. They were quick to cash my check though, then complain that they had to return and re diagnose the problem in the first hand. I called and left a message this past Saturday requesting information of how they were going to fix the unrepaired refrigerator and haven't received a returned phone call

STAY away from this place and like I've learned the hard way, Call Sears first!

PS, the female that answers the phone needs to learn some customer service techniques and phone etiquette.

Brian, the tech, showed up and didn't move any of the appliances that had problems.  He then made claims to AHS that were not based upon facts or evidence but rather on unsubstantiated opinion.  Not surprisingly, none of the AHS claims were covered.
When we contacted Gulf to find out why, I had to wait two weeks, 3 calls and messages to them, and finally got a callback.  They told me I needed to contact AHS to find out why.  I found out about one appliance, and that is all I need to share here, as it reveals much about how Gulf (and Brian) work.  AHS told me that Brian had reported that one of them had been subjected to "abuse."
We contacted Gulf and told them we were not happy with Brian and contest his report, and requested another technician for a second opinion.  Guess what?  Gulf sent out Brian again!
When we asked Brian face-to-face about his report, he lied, said he never wrote that the appliance was subjected to "abuse."  Then when we asked him how he came to this unsubstantiated view, he refused to "argue" - then turned his back on my husband and walked out of our house.  My husband addressed him by "Sir" the entire time, asking him to explain himself.  He refused.  He then told his supervisor at Gulf that he did not "feel safe" in our house - and that is why he left.
Gulf Appliance Repair: Unethical actions. Disrespectful treatment. Unprofessional behavior.  Reprehensible personailties.  If this is the company you want to work with and give an 'A' score to, be my guest.  I ain't.  And I won't.

The upper oven heating element was replaced, and slightly bent to configure it properly for the oven dimensions. The new socket that was installed worked well and was a good fit for the prong plugs of the replacement heating element. Before he began working, he technician asked me to cut off the power to the oven rather than asking me to show him where the circuit breaker panel was, and also asked me to turn the power back on after he was finished with the heating element installation. I found that mildly interesting since all the other workmen we've had in the past have switched electrical power (or water flow) off and on themselves when they've had to do work at our house. Dave was also a bit terse (although polite) when I asked him about the details of what he was doing, but on the whole he was competent and professional. The oven appears to be working fine now, but I do not think we would go out of our way to contact Gulf directly to ask them to fix an appliance in our home due to the last-minute nature of their attempt to cancel our work appointment. If there had been a major weather event or some other wide-spread problem that necessitated a last-minute cancellation, I am sure we would have understood. But cancelling the day before the appointment day and time without any explanation whatsoever is not an experience we would like to repeat.

She had an extended warranty, her house is only a year old and the warranty had expired. She called them, they never got back to her. It took them forever to answer her emails and it seemed like they forgot her. She had to continue to call them and remind them of the conversations between them. When she ordered the part they told her it would take 2 weeks. She had to call them again to remind them and when she did, they said they hadn't order the part yet and she had to wait for them again. They did come out and they put a big gash in her floor.

Contacted our home warranty company Wednesday evening; Gulf Applicance called Thursday; Appointment scheduled for Friday. Matt, the service technician, called prior to appointment time. He arrived earlier than expected (Great!). He was personalable, professional, knowledgeable and had excellent customer service skills.
Matt diagnosed and fixed the problem; washer works great. Would definitely recommend Gulf Appliance.

The technician advised he did not have the parts for repair, but would get back to me on 12/13/13 about the costs and estimated time frame. On the following Monday (12/16/13), I had not heard from the technician or the company, I called. I was advised that the Service Manager would call me on Monday. Now it is Wednesday, and still no word/no contact.
I am left with calling the manufacturer and having the parts delivered directly to me, and then I will have to have a new company come out and install.
I do not recommend calling this company at all.

They returned my call within an hour after I left a message. Professional and friendly. Bryan the tech was right on time, nice, thorough and explained everything. (Which was user error-mine-by the way). Their scheduling is great because you can watch the techs progress throughout the day and see where they are. I would definitely use them for my appliance needs in the future.

We contacted them on a Sunday night through our home warranty company but had to leave a 2nd message on Monday before they finally called back on Tuesday. I thought they were professional and were punctual for our appointments, but it took 17 days for them to repair the dryer. They said the part was delayed due to the way the home warranty company made them order it, but the home warranty company denied this. Except for the delay we were happy with their work.

Repair couldn’t be completed on the first visit (diagnosis the first day, necessary part ordered and installed once in), but the service was absolutely great from start to finish. I have absolute faith in these folks. The price actually reflects the price for the service call under our Service Warranty program...it's what we had to pay, but don't feel right commenting on their prices when I'm not familiar with them.
* They're office staff are terrific - very, very responsive and friendly.
*They have a top-notch system that sends out reminder via email (if you gave them an email address) the night before your appointment so you can confirm you'll be there for the technician's visit (can call them back if you prefer, and I'm sure they'd call if you didn't provide an email address, but handy for me.)
* As soon as I confirmed, they sent another email acknowledging confirmation and providing an awesome link to a and quot;statusand quot; site....it let me know who my technician was, where we were on the schedule, and how he was progressing through the prior appointments. Reminded me of the and quot;Dominosand quot; status chart....was really, really accurate and helpful to gauge approximate arrival time!
Our 1st technician, Dave, was extremely polite, knowledgeable and had everything he needed with him for the repair (except the part...was no way to predict that one.) We've had so many technicians in our house lately that have had to borrow a flashlight, screwdriver, table lamp (not kidding)....strange things....was really refreshing to have a true professional. He took his time and explained everything so that we were fully informed about the issue, what to expect next, and helpful tips for keeping our appliance running well. As soon as Dave left our house, we received an email invoice detailing the problem and parts needed.
Our 2nd technician, Bryan, came back as soon as the part came in a few weeks later (today, yay!) We experienced the same, wonderful service as the first time; professional, courteous and an invoice explaining what was repaired the moment he left our house. A+++ for Gulf Appliance Repair Inc.

They were fine and they called me back right away. The gentleman that came out was very pleasant. He arrived on time and he was very knowledgeable. The cost wasn't very much because our dishwasher was still under warranty. They had to order the parts which took some time. The repairman needed to use my shop-vac to suck up some water in the dishwasher and I thought he had emptied that water out of it. We found it later and it was rotting. My husband pointed out that these guys know they're going into a home with a broken dishwasher and they need to bring their own equipment for that. We were just moving in and I was used to the chaos but it really upset my husband to have the wet hoses around.

I put in a service request with our home warranty company, American Home Shield, to have a door spring and detergent cup replaced on our dishwasher. At the same time they looked at our microwave. 3 parts (2 for the dishwasher) and 1 for the microwave needed to be ordered. I was told that someone would call me back with an installation date. I called them back a week later and was told that I would get an update the next day. I did receive a call letting me know the parts were back ordered. A month passed with no contact from Complete Appliance. I called back, looking for an update. I left a voice mail which was not returned. I called back another 10 days later, and again reached voicemail. No call was returned. Finally I called American Home Shield (AHS) , who contacted Complete Appliance. They said the parts were still on back order for the dishwasher, but the repair tech did come out in March, 2009 to repair the microwave. Another month passed, more unreturned calls to Complete Appliance. Again I called AHS. . They tried to facilitate the ordering of the parts, but were unsuccessful. Complete Appliance was sent to "contractor relations" within AHS. FINALLY we were authorized to replace the dishwasher instead of repair it. We picked out our new dishwasher, AHS authorized it and then had an appliance company call us to set up the install date. It was Gulf Appliance. Cool, we thought we had seen the last of Complete Appliance. Turns out they had changed their name. Was it because they were in trouble with AHS? Was it because they had received a "D" rating on Angie's List? Who knows... they dispatched a tech who installed our dishwasher successfully on 6/10/09, about 6 months after it was reported broken. That's a lot of hand washed dishes. My beef is not with the repair techs... they are all competent and at the mercy of higher ups. It's the general lack of communication experience by this company. I had no problem with back ordered parts, but I did have a problem with being blown off. We had no choice as this was an AHS approved company. But you have a choice. Hope this report helps you with yours.
