The first floor ceiling repair went quickly and smoothly. The bathroom re-tiling was a nightmare. It took weeks to get completed, and during a hot summer with no other tub or shower, this had a huge impact on our household. Mr. McCallum has a day job, and not only did not get it done during the expected time frame, he sent his son and a son's buddy to do the job, who also did not work steadily to complete the job. When they did work, they made an enormous mess by cutting tiles inside the house, which resulted in a sheet of plaster duster over absolutely everything in the home; when they did work outdoors they left a mess; they damaged the bathtub; we needed to purchase a huge number of tiles in excess of the initial plan (more than double), as a high number of tiles were cut and discarded, and a larger area than requested was tiled; Mr. McCallum was uncommunicative about various choices he was making, including not actually supervising the job. He eventually came to finish it himself.
Response from Hometown Handyman & Home Improvements
"This woman is a nightmare to work for. She is supposedly a rabbi but you wouldn't know it from the message she left on my phone - she was screaming and yelling and cussing worse than a sailor... lol! and she hadn't even seen the job - she was out of town! she based her tirade solely on her girlfriends comments. I even paid to refinish her old beat up tub which had previous chips and I had pointed out to her prior to starting the job. worse person I have ever worked for in 25 years! I've done hundreds of jobs if not in the thousands over the years without any complaints and then this wacko comes along. She was just trying to get out of paying which I am sure was not her first time doing something like this. She threatened me with a lawyer, (her girlfriend) , and I said do what you have to do lady. she paid me in full within 2 weeks after she jerked me around as long as she could. If anyone is considering working for her and you are reading this do yourself a favor and run away."

Richard did excellent work. I was very pleased with the final results. It was difficult to get him out to my house during the time frame that I needed, but it was worth the wait.
