Dryer Vent Wizard of Anne Arundel County

High-end LG dryer is only 5 years old. Our dryer was not generating heat. Had another company look at the dryer - heating element had gone bad. Replacing that resulted in heat, but it still wasn't drying fully - things were coming out just slightly damp. He suggested calling Dryer Vent Wizard to inspect the vent line, suspecting it was clogged. Dryver Vent Wizard came out day after I called them and showed me that only a little bit of air was coming out of the vent outside. Cleaning out the vent resulted in about 4 gallons of dust/lint. Result was a lot more air coming out of the vent after the blockage was removed. He explained that a blocked vent is likely to have caused the heating element to overheat and fail. Full drying test still needs to be done, but it looks like a no-brainer.

Ted went in from both ends of the system, by the dryer and outside the house at the vent, and fixed the problem. Gobs of lint were removed and a grate that was stopping up the works and causing the problem in the first place was also removed. Everything is working well now. The appoint was made for the very next day after I called and Ted was very professional - I will definitely call them again next time. There were no attempts to upsell me and I'm very happy with the service.

My dryer vent was cleaned thoroughly and is no longer at risk for a dryer fire. I will not use the company again because they left all the lint they evacuated right where it fell: what a mess!!! Pros: The technician arrived on time and set about the arduous process of locating the dryer vent termination. This was a bit of an undertaking. I even had to find some pictures of the interior of my chimney when at one point we believed it might terminate there (yes, that would have been some bad news.) With my permission and encouragement he cut 3 holes in my drywall to follow the tube and we found the termination in the attic. The technician then cleaned the dyer vent tubing and cut additional holes to remove some blockages. The technician provided excellent feedback on two ways to improve my dryer venting: relocate the termination to the roof (he showed me the correct vent I should have a contractor install for me). Lastly, he suggested a better, yet more complicated option a contractor could also do for me but that would ensure ease of cleaning and best dryer functionality. I appreciated all of this feedback and the technician's diligence through the process. Cons: As he was leaving the technician apologized for leaving a mess. He even joked how he once received a bad review for leaving a mess, saying, this is a messy process. Well, I assumed he mean the drywall dust from cutting the wall and any random lint that he couldn't pick up... I mean, this is messy. I get that. I was completely unprepared for what I found. Basically, the technician left all the dryer lint he evacuated exactly where it fell with the minor exception being the large wad of lint he put in a tiny trashcan I keep in my laundry room. He could have asked for a trash bag, a vacuum, a broom, or anything he would have needed to not leave every single bit of lint behind. I am flabbergasted. I've never had a contractor in my home who didn't clean their mess. No, I don't expect it cleaned spotlessly, but a cursory effort to remove the worst of of it would have gone a long way. I will not use this company again. Cost breakdown: $150 to clean the dryer vent; $50 additional for cutting the holes in drywall and working to located the tubing

It was okay. For the price the technician only cleaned from the outside in. I have a fairly long run from the laundry room to the exterior vent, and that was all he would do for the quoted price. A previous company sent two techs and not only cleaned from outside in to the dryer, but they actually reversed the process and cleaned from the dryer all the way out to the exterior vent. Same price ($125), but 4 years ago.

He was prompt, pleasant, and professional. He was on time. He gave me a two hour window from 12 to 2 and he was here at 1:30. He was pleasant. He had to speak with his office to verify he had time to perform the service. He was pleasant to both me, the client, and his co-workers. He was professional. He was qualified to provide the advertised service to clean the very important connection from the dryer to the outside, which was a real fire hazard. He let me take advantage of the Angie's List coupon. The original rate was $125.00 and with the coupon it became $100, which delighted me.

The service response time was excellent and the service deliverer arrived on time. Overall I rated this service as excellent although there are areas for improvement. The price was a bit higher than I would like to have paid and no discounts were offered. They do not accept credit payment and this makes it difficult for those of us who pay with credit cards for budgeting purposes. The service delivery person communicated issues well and was professional overall. To improve, it would be best to clean up after work is completed. However, he did inform me that he had left a bit of a mess and I told him that this was acceptable. So, to his credit, he communicated well and I gave him the ok. Improvement for better service is to clean up after such work, however.

My dryer is now working properly again!  They were prompt, quick, and did a very thorough job.

Ted was very prompt and professional.  He took his time with the project and snaked out a long, twisty dryer vent and a portion of the bathroom fan vent tube.  I would definitely have him again.  I gave him a B overall, because he used our trash can to put some of the lint in and left a LOT on the floor.  (I expected to clean up some, but not all of it)  He also left a huge pile outside where the vent comes outside.  I think someone in this line of business would be prepared to remove the lint and mess created.  Other than that, he was very honest and a nice guy.  I will definitely have him out again to clear our dryer vent.

The provider arrived on time and was totally professional.  After checking the dryer vent from inside the home, the provider climbed a ladder (outside to the second floor where the dryer is located)  and carefully cleaned the vent from the outside andthen  checked to see that the vent was totally free of lint and debris.   We are pleased with his excellent work.

Arrived right on time and completed job promptly. Cleaned vent from outside, which was very  difficult to access, as well as inside. Had all the right tools to reach through a relatively long vent. Did not try to up-sell or over-schedule maintenance  but had appropriate suggestions for improvements when asked.

He was prompt and courteous. He even came back in November and fixed part of the vent that came apart for no cost.

Completed the job in a jiffy and advised me of areas where the gutter were clogged.
