BROWN's Well, Pump & Trenching Svc has been Serviçing and maintaining my well for 23 years. This weekend with the BIG Freeze we had in Annapolis, Mr. Brown helped me with trouble-shooting throughout his weekend. Many times he has walked me through things by telephone, to save me hundreds of dollars in service fees/labor. Mr. Brown is an invaluable resource for ANYONE who has a well in Anne Arundel County!!!

We called on Brown’s Well and Pump Service because of previous experience with Mr. Brown. Several years ago, we had to have a new well pump and the service provided at that time was excellent. This time, we had to replace our water pressure tank. We were not disappointed. We received excellent service and very reasonable pricing. Mr. Brown is professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and respectful of customers and their property. We’ve had experiences where the second or third time around with a company the quality drops off but not with this company. Mr. Brown seems to pride himself on high caliber service and consistency. Mr. Brown is the company and deserves the highest of recommendations. You will not go wrong by hiring Mr. Brown for solving any well related issues.

Andy Brown just did a fantastic job with our well. He's obviously very competent, he is very personable, and his work is very reasonably priced. When we could not locate our wellhead Mr. Brown gave us a great referral to an electrician who was able to trace the electrical lines straight to our well, saving us a ton of work finding it. Once the well was uncovered he pulled the pump, showed me exactly what was broken, and replaced the pump, tubing, and wire all in one day.
If we ever have any other problems with our well Andy Brown will be the person I call.

Andy Brown was knowledgeable, prompt and professional in the services provided. He knew what the exact problem was and resolved the problem effectively. He dug the trench needed with no impact to the system or surrounding foliage. Andy also provided an education on how the system works, what went wrong, and how to operate the pump in order to avoid future problems.

Andy Brown was wonderful to work with and knows his stuff. We started having air in the water supply and then it would stop intermittently. I had a plumber come in first, then found Andy on Angieslist.
Before starting work, he measured the electrical current going to the pump and could see the pump was not calling for water. He recommended an electrician to ensure that it was not the power at fault, before he began to work on digging down to the pump. (It required tearing up a piece of our asphalt and that is one reason we had to do detective work on this submerged pump.) When the electrician could find nothing at ground level, Andy started work. By this time we had no water at all, and he did the job on a Sunday. He replaced our well pump, answered all our questions, and did everything in a timely way.
I would recommend him to anyone.

Lost all water pressure on Saturday morning. Andy Brown came Saturday afternoon. The old well pump was dead, mostly due to a horrendous buildup of iron oxide. He replaced the well pump with a much better one (all stainless steel) and related parts and cleared blockages inside the house caused by iron knocked loose during the pump work. It was very tedious and required all sorts of taking pipes apart, blowing air through with compressor, and flushing. He was quite patient and persistent. Had plenty of water to get by when he left (5gpm because he temporary left a 5gpm flow restrictor in line). Returned later to clean out the well more thoroughly, restoring it to 20gpm (5gpm higher than when originally drilled 40+ years ago) and removed the flow restrictor. Andy was very accessible, explained what he was doing every step of the way, and did only what was necessary. He also explained to drain/flush the pressure tank, check the diaphragm, and reset it. He will be our go-to well guy from now on.

Awesome job by Andy Brown. There was air coming into my lines and causing loud banging noises in the pipes, and I couldn't figure out the problem on my own. Andy came out on a Saturday to pull up the pump and search for the issue. He had found that the check valve connected to the pump was completely shot and replaced it with a high quality check valve for a very reasonable price. Even though this was an issue that could have been a disaster if the check valve failed in the house, it did not fix my air problem (not Andy's fault - this was determined the next day as the problem was only apparent after hours of not using water).
I called Andy the next day (Sunday) and asked what else may be the problem. His answer was spot on and I was able to dig and find the leaking nylon fitting, however I wasn't confident in my ability to replace it. Andy came out again on short notice and was able to replace the problem and now I have no air in my lines.
There's no salesman pitch with Andy, as I've encountered with most water specialists in the area. You give him details about your problem and he will give you a straightforward price to fix the problem. I don't think I could have gotten away with the price I paid with anyone else, especially for a Saturday and Sunday job!

They showed up on time and were very reliable. They did not try to upsell me on anything I didn't need. They were very polite, personable and professional. I would use them again in the future.

Four house guests and we lose water. On a Saturday. What are the chances anyone will come promptly to fix the problem? Sherry Seckman of Ace Septic service recommended Andy Brown. He was a life saver! Came when he said he would, quickly identified the problem as corroded contacts in a pressure relay, and had our water restored in no time. Cost of this service: $180. Value: priceless. We'll never use any well-service company except Brown's in the future.

He was honest and clearly explained the dangers of trying to take cleaning measures that he didn't think would work, and instead offered suggestions on who to work with to dig a new well.

It was very good. He was very knowledgeable of his products. I am an engineer so I pretty much sized up what would be a good solution to our problem. He independently came to the same solution which was very good. He used good quality materials. He showed up when he said he would show up. He completed the job according to the original schedule and on his original budget. He did as good a job as he could have possibly done. He was very professional and did top quality work. I am pretty particular and he did an outstanding job. The price was competitive. He wasn't the cheapest guy but he didn't use the cheapest materials either.

They came over, really nice guy. He came about once a week, tells me what needs to be done. There was a leak in a pipe on the ground. He came over and it was cracked, the pipe, he fixed it. He's a real nice job. He said what ever it is I'm going to give you a good deal on it. And my wife and I like the guy and we said do it. I love the company, best thing that could ever have happened.

Over a period of 2-3 weeks our water pressure was slowly dropping. By the time I contacted Andy Brown the water flowing out of a faucet was pencil thin. The problem would repeat itself after a full recovery. I called Andy early on the 28th. He made it the next day at 4pm and I suspected it would be a long evening, but it only took 10 minutes for him to detect a fault in the well switch. He installed a new switch and removed the attached well filter and cleaned it out. He set up the pressure in the holding tank and our water pressure was back to normal. Total time spent; just a little over an hour. I first called Andy about 15 years ago for a well problem and I knew right away he knew everything about wells, inside and out. I have continued to use his services over these past years for other major and minor well problems. When it came to this recent problem I had no hesitation calling him because I knew he would find the problem and fix it.

Mr. Brown was excellent. We had tried twice previously to chlorinate our well and tests were still coming back positive for bacteria. We hadn't tried again, but our water started smelling badly and decided to call someone to help. We called at 7am, he was there later that afternoon. He told us the smell probably wasn't coming from the well, and helped us determine that it was probably our hot water heater that needed to be cleaned out. He also blew the well and chlorinated it again for us. It passed! Overall, he was very helpful, offered us plumbing advice (not what he does) and gave us other sound advice regarding our well. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

I had a problem with the well pressure tank. The pressure switch was short cycling and then I found water around the tank. I thought it was leaking and needed to be replaced. Andy came out the day after I called (he would have come that day but I was unable to meet him) and after checking things out, informed me that the air pressure needed to be charged and that my hot water heater was in fact leaking. He took care of the tank, charged an extremely reasonable amount for the work, and was very informative about what to look for with the tank for problems in the future. Another contractor might have taken advantage of the fact that I was unfamiliar with the situation and replaced the tank. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing work of this type done.

The water pressure in my house had been on the decline for a few months now, so I was already looking in to replacement when the pump finally died on Friday afternoon. After calling some two of the companies that I had initially talked to about a now 'emergent' requirement to replace the old pump, I realized that I was been up-sold and that the weekend work was going to cost even more, so I jumped on Angie's List. Mr. Brown had an and quot;Aand quot; rating across the board and good reviews so I made the call and very glad that I did.
My job had a major complication that required a lot if digging, the release mechanism would not release. Mr. Brown expended a good amount of time trying to get it to release, but to no avail. The only thing left to do was to dig down a little over 4 feet to get access to the pipe and the mechanism. I was given the option to dig my self or set up another time when he could come back with a bobcat. I took the option of doing the digging to save both time and money. Mr Brown then let me do my part while he took care of another customer. When I was done with the and quot;Big Digand quot; I gave him a call and he was back at my house an hour later as agreed. Work was completed soon after and we had water running again!
The best part was the Mr. Brown charged just about what the other bigger name companies wanted to charge for a and quot;simpleand quot; job which mine turned out NOT to be.
I am so happy I decided to go with Angie's list and skip the other companies!

Mr. Brown is a true professional. He was extremely honest and reasonable. He was very impressive with his knowledge and the overall experience was outstanding. Every repair type company that I have ever dealt with has usually been an unpleasant experience. Mr. Brown changed that for us. I can't say enough good things about him. As long as he is in business, no one else will ever work on my well. I only wish he did plumbing. The best experience I have ever had with a repair service.

I was slowly losing water pressure and when I returned home from a
business trip I noticed I only had enough water to brush my teeth. I
looked on Angie's list and discovered Mr. Andy Brown. I called him late
day Friday and he came out at 11:30am Saturday! He quickly diagnosed
the problem - the well pump had a hole in it. He replaced the pump -
had one on his truck. He had difficulties pulling the old pump out
because it was missing a piece to secure the wire (?) to pull it out
with. By 4:30pm I had full water pressure.
I was extremely pleased with Mr. Brown - he explained what he was doing and why, showed me the
hole in the old pump when he removed it. I highly recommend Mr. Brown.

Called Mr. Brown at 10:00 AM, our water stopped in the middle of Thanksgiving night. I was concerned that because it was a Holiday weekend the fees would be high. He answered immediately, told me he had one job he was heading to and could be right over afterwards. His diagnostic fee was only $75 and if we used his service it was applied to the repairs. He called shortly after and said his job went quicker than expected and arrived at about 11am. We pretty much knew we needed a new well pump which he confirmed but he had the parts in his truck and was able to perform the work then and there for about $1,000. We had not had the service quoted before but a plumber in the family said they typically charge $2,600 for that same service. We were back up and running by 1:30! He was very knowledgeable, polite, patiently explained everything to me and answered my working husband's questions by phone (he knows I'm not fluent in and quot;houseand quot;). I was very happy to find Mr. Brown and will recommend him to anyone with a well system.
