Because I was so impressed, I contacted American Sheet Metal to estimate the cost of installing a new HVAC system in a new large detached barn/garage we were building. Steve arrived within a couple of days, provided an estimate that same day, and I accepted his proposal.
He obtained the appropriate AA Co. permits immediately and started the work within a couple of weeks, and he finished the duct work and setting of the indoor and outdoor units inn a couple of days. He later returned when the electrical work in the structure was completed to finish the job and start up the units. Everything is perfect!
Because this is an "industrial-type" building, all the interior duct work is exposed, and he took great pains to make it look very neat. In fact, he took a great deal of pride in making all the duct work fit and look nice because it is not hidden behind walls and ceiling like residential installations. His work is like art. The system is highly efficient and heat and cools the building very quickly. The duct work is tight, and there are no air leaks when the system is running. It is a first-class installation.
I could not possibly recommend anyone more highly. Steve is pleasant and friendly. He communicates clearly and answers the phone 99% of the time, the first time you call. If you're planning a new installation, they are the company to call.
I will use them for all my HVAC maintenance and service needs in the future.
I recently purchased a "discount" Preventive Maintenance service with another vendor; although I was experiencing no issues with my H/Vac system. The service fee included one pound of freon, if needed. The owner/ service technician told me near the end of the service that he had put in an additional 1 1/2 lbs over the amount included and then charged me an additional $145.00. He said the system still needed more to top it off, but did not want to add any more, since he had already put in almost half of the maximum freon capacity.. He informed me that it was most likely a leak in the coil (a rough cost of about $1400 to replace) with such a massive loss of freon. He suggested I schedule a service call in the spring, and have the system rechecked, unless it stopped working before then.
After some deliberation, I contacted Steve Smith at American Sheet Metal, and explained the situation. Steve responded very quickly, came out and did a thorough inspection. He found no problems with the system, and the freon was up to maximum level, although it had been over a month since the other vendor had stated the level was still below maximum capacity.when he completed the service. I was once again reminded of Steve's integrity, knowledgeability, and professionalism. I have also been reminded of an important lesson: Don't confuse "discount" pricing with quality and value!I
Based on my experiences, I recommend this company without hesitation, for any H/VAC needs, and will make certain I follow my own advice in the future.

The fact that a business owner would actually recommend against a job that would have been quite lucrative for his company impressed me a great deal. His honesty and integrity are to be admired. For that reason alone, I will definitely use this company on future jobs.
