Description of Work: Lou and Chris paid lots of attention to detail on our kitchen remodel. They were considerate in the way they cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. I was in the home each day and they were not a problem to have around. They finished right on schedule; a welcomed result in having no kitchen. I would highly recommend them!

Lou did a complete make-over of our small outdated kitchen. We tore down a wall, and the soffits which more than doubled the size of the kitchen. The project included new cabinets, counter tops and flooring through out. Lou paid a lot of attention to detail, was a pleasure to work with and finished the project when promised.

On 10/21/2015 I called the contractor with request and followed up with a text of scope of work requested and pictures of the portion of the exterior of the house where the work would b done. On 10/27/2015 he had an estimate. On 11/3/2015 we signed a contract. Work began on 11/18/2015 and was done on 11/18/2015. On 11/18/2015 I requested a walk thru which occurred 11/20/2015, I paid balanc due. That evening I noticed the security light wasn't working and texted contractor who agreed to come back 11/23/2015. On 11/24/2015 he texted he was trying to finish ups some small jobs. On 12/2/2015 he texted he could come by that morning but I had already left for work. On 12/15/2015 I texted him I had hired an electrician to repair the light, no response. On 12/17/2015 I texted him to drop the house keys off. On 3/20/2016 I texted him with a request to come and fix siding that ha cracked completely thru. He replied on 3/23/2016 that he had stopped by the house and there was an easy fix and to contact him. On 3/27/2016 I texted him with a request to meet, he replied on 3/29/2016 he would be at the house the next morning at 8:30am, later that day he texted with a request to meet that following Saturday. We met at my house on 4/2/2016 and discussed the punch list and also some additional work to include painting the siding as the manufacturer recommended painting within 6 months, I agreed to pay for extra shingles if needed and to pay for his cutting the caulking he says I should not have applied. He agreed to the punch list to include replacing the broken pieces, moving the uneven ones into alignment, cutting the caulking I had done as he said that was what was causing the shingles to break, and the new work of painting and installing a new exterior frame around the door and told me what paint to buy and he would schedule within the next 2 weeks. On 6/8/2016 I texted him and asked him to schedule work. On 6/9/2016 he replied he would get it on the schedule and let me know what day. On 6/29/2016 he tested he could come on 7/6/2016. I hired this contractor because they were on Angie's List. The initial contact was 11/2/2015, we revised it 11/20/2015 to include extra layerof shingles, surprise to everyone and I had added insulation board and flashing over door and window. I paid $1,000.00 at contract, an additional $1,200.00 when work began. Basic contract met but they broke the security light and left it dangling with a large hole in the wall for weather and insects to enter, and wouldn't repair or replace it, he said it must not have been working before. I had to hire an electrician to replace and secure it, at my expense. Several shingles were out of alignment and they didn't notice it when installing them. Gaps at bottom of rows and in between shingles were uneven. An exterior electrical outlet was moved closer to the door frame and is now tight to open. They broke off a piece of vinyl window framing. No caulking at top where siding meets eave and it was uneven. The stove vent is now crooked from both the inside and outside. Caulking around windows and door is uneven, globs all of which is eye level. I want the agreed to punch list, added request to paint and put up framing around door done, timely and in a professional quality of work. I am concerned that the shingles primer has degraded as it is now more than 7 months since it was installed.

Description of Work: They provided an estimate for exterior painting at a rental property. While they were professional and punctual, the costs would have been high with them.

L & L Contracting LLC is truly a remarkable company! I had wanted my basement finished for the longest time, and to be completely honest, that was my main reason for signing up for Angie's List. My husband and I met with several contractors and Lou, the owner, gave me the best estimate out of all his competitors. Although Lou's estimate was the most affordable, I feel as though the materials he used were of the utmost quality and the finished product is simply fantastic. Lou provided me with a descriptive written estimate of the project and explained everything in a way that I could understand. When it came to making stylistic decisions for the layout and design of the basement Lou made sure we were completely involved while still offering his professional opinion. Lou and his workers were all very professional and trustworthy. I provided Lou with a key to easily access our home to do the work on the basement. I was completely impressed by L & L Contracting LLC and would definitely use them again for my home improvement needs. Without reservation, I will recommend Lou and his workers to others seeking to beautify their homes. Thanks so much Lou and Chris and the rest of the company!

Initially the job was delayed by a week b/c of scheduling conflict with another job already started. Once the work began, I was very pleased with the progression. There were some delays due to cabinets not arriving on time and a door that had to be sent back b/c it was the wrong one but Lou Likourgos was great and always responsive if I had any questions. he does the work himself with an assistant, Chris. Both are professional and clearly have worked together for some time. Once the kitchen was complete, everything was in working order. The only issue that presented itself was an icemaker problem with the refrigerator. It did require a plumber to come in and change out the valve to one that would allow full water pressure - this, apparently, is something new with the more recent appliances. Lou was able to put me in touch with a great plumber (Russ's Plumbing, Parkville) and it's fixed perfectly. If you are looking for a contractor who you can trust to leave in your house while you go to work, vacation, etc., this is the guy. I always came home to a clean house and never worried about things disappearing or anything other horror stories I've heard over the years.

Lou is a highly skilled, energetic and considerate contractor. He responded to my call right away and set a date to discus what needed to be done and provided a best guess estimate, which was almost perfectly on target (I made some changes and we adjusted accordingly). Lou provided 3 references and one man spoke to me for 15 minutes because Lou agreed to let the customer do the gutting for a lower cost and wanted me to know that the final kitchen was perfect. Lou had to work within a condo which has very strict rules. He could only work from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday, had to reserve an elevator and they required that he install cork underflooring as a sound barrier. Lou had to research where to get it (only one place) and took on a new type of installation that he had never done before. Lou looked at it as a learning opportunity. He had no problems. Getting materials in and out was a challenge sometimes and cost him lost time (he had to wait to use the dock for over an hour several times). Lou never complained and was always gracious, courteous, professional and in good humor with my husband who is retired and was home during the renovations. I am a systems engineer and I would ask for additional information. Lou calmly explained what was going on and why. My kitchen cabinets were from a display and Lou managed to install them as if they were originally made for my space. There were some challenges but Lou has the contractor skills to deal with uneven floors, ceilings and walls. I left a ball to ensure that the counters and stove were even and I could sit the ball anywhere and it stayed put. Lou also installed one of the display cabinets in my bathroom, doing the same gutting and adjusting. Lou has a wonderful worker who worked smoothly beside him and he was also high quality, another reflection on Lou's commitment to excellence. Lou installed cabinets, flooring, lights, sinks, fixtures and painted. Lou turned my dreams into reality. Lou was honest and explained his methodology (getting materials before work as needed and then working through to completed each phase). He would explain what to expect and followed through. I highly recommend Lou (that's his nickname, his real name is Lashann Kikourgos) to anyone who wants an honest and highly skilled contractor.
