I hired this contractor because they were on Angie's List.  The initial contact was 11/2/2015, we revised it 11/20/2015 to include extra layerof shingles, surprise to everyone and I had added insulation board and flashing over door and window.  I paid $1,000.00 at contract, an additional $1,200.00 when work began.  Basic contract met but they broke the security light and left it dangling with a large hole in the wall for weather and insects to enter, and wouldn't repair or replace it,  he said it must not have been working before.  I had to hire an electrician to replace and secure it, at my expense.  Several shingles were out of alignment and they didn't notice it when installing them.  Gaps at bottom of rows and in between shingles were uneven.  An exterior electrical outlet was moved closer to the door frame and is now tight to open.  They broke off a piece of vinyl window framing.  No caulking at top where siding meets eave and it was uneven.  The stove vent is now crooked from both the inside and outside.  Caulking around windows and door is uneven, globs all of which is eye level. Â
I want the agreed to punch list, added request to paint and put up framing around door done, timely and in a professional quality of work. Â I am concerned that the shingles primer has degraded as it is now more than 7 months since it was installed.Â
"Thank you so much Mrs. [Members Name] for your kind words. We try at L&L Contracting to do are best to please all our customers in the same way. Lou."
Initially the job was delayed by a week b/c of scheduling conflict with another job already started. Once the work began, I was very pleased with the progression. There were some delays due to cabinets not arriving on time and a door that had to be sent back b/c it was the wrong one but Lou Likourgos was great and always responsive if I had any questions. he does the work himself with an assistant, Chris. Both are professional and clearly have worked together for some time. Once the kitchen was complete, everything was in working order. The only issue that presented itself was an icemaker problem with the refrigerator. It did require a plumber to come in and change out the valve to one that would allow full water pressure - this, apparently, is something new with the more recent appliances. Lou was able to put me in touch with a great plumber (Russ's Plumbing, Parkville) and it's fixed perfectly.
If you are looking for a contractor who you can trust to leave in your house while you go to work, vacation, etc., this is the guy. I always came home to a clean house and never worried about things disappearing or anything other horror stories I've heard over the years.
