ASSOCIATED APPLIANCE SERVICE

Very happy with the service. Steve arrived on time, laid out mats to protect floors and countertops and replaced the compressor in our side-by-side 30+ year old, built-in Sub Zero refrigerator. We had another repair firm out earlier for an estimate, but the tech wanted to pull the refrigerator out of the enclosure. We were worried that our wood floors would be scratched if he did that so we were happy to have Associated Appliances do the work without moving it. Highly recommend them!

Set up appointment for technician to come by.  Because I had to be at work, I had my elderly mother at my home to let the technician in and pay with my credit card.  After less than 40 minutes of work, he gives her a bill for $404!!  She began to question him about the high cost buy he refused to explain and simply expected her to pay.

When I returned from work that day, I quickly called the company.  The woman told me that the price was very competitive, they were Sub-zero authorized and are not allowed to just charge whatever they wanted, would never rip people off, etc, etc. She told me to call around other repair places if I did not believe her.

The next day, I DID call around to find out if the price they charged me was fair.  As you can imagine, it was NOT!  I called 3 different places and they all came in at $275-300!!  I also asked if Sub-zero constrains their certified partners how much they could charge the customer.  As you can guess, they all said, "NO". 

The day after that, I called Associated back and told the woman there what I had discovered.  She became very flustered and defensive.  She claimed the other places were not "Sub-zero certified" like they were.  (Not true)  I said that I would not write any negative on-line reviews if she adjusted her price closer to what the other companies had quoted me, to which she shouted, "THE CUSTOMER DOES NOT DICTATE THE PRICE!!" and then hung-up on me.

Basically, the technician saw my elderly mother as an easy target and took advantage of her.  The woman at the office obviously knew this but was unwilling to apologize or adjust the price.  Instead she fed me a bunch of lies, thinking I would not fact-check her.  Unfortunately for her, I did check.

I have NEVER review on-line about anything, positive or negative.  However, this incident compels me to do so.  Companies need to be held accountable in some way for their negative actions.  Plus, I can not let m

We were having some ice buildup in the bottom of the refrigerator. In the past, we've used a different repair company. They had replaced the evaporator pan. It cost us $1000. So, we were worried that that was going to happen again. But this gentleman came out and said, "No, we just needed a heater." He didn't think I needed an evaporator pan. So it seemed to work there for about two years now. We just called them again because we're having some more problems. He is going to come out probably next week. It was so much cheaper than the previous repair.

I called the company and they came the next to evaluate why my refrigerator would not hold the correct temperature. Steve came and determined the part that needed to be replaced and ordered it. As soon as they received it, arrangements were made to fix the refrigerator. They came when they promised and fixed the refrigerator. I would use them again in the future.

I've used them before. As always the work was done on time at the estimated price.

Infuriating. Spend hours waiting for him to show up. He spends 5 minutes, tells me my dryer is fixed and it isn't. Then charges me to come out a second time to actually fix it.

They were able to put me on their schedule for the next day after my call. The serviceman diagnosed the problem (a VERY dirty compressor). He was prompt and did his work quickly and professionally. This company charges for the service call but will apply this amount to the repair bill.

I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THEIR WORK. THEY WERE PROMPT AND RELIABLE. I THOUGHT THAT THEIR PRICE WAS A LITTLE BIT HIGH BUT THEY ALL SEEMED HIGH. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.
