Demolition, painting, installation of dry wall, installation of tile.
Description of Work: Our relationship with Steve Reed, Quality Improvements started off great. However, almost as soon as he started on our project he began to "find" reasons why he couldn't do a particular aspect of the job as we discussed / he promised. This continued throughout. He couldn't trim the doors the way he said he would, he couldn't open the bathroom shower stall wider like he said he would, he thought we'd "be unhappy" with a smooth, finished ceiling and we would like a textured (cheap-looking, easier for him) ceiling "better"; he couldn't install the medicine cabinet in the wall, so we would need to get a mirror, instead; he couldn't install a bathroom door so that the handle was the proper distance from the door rather than 23 inches from the floor he maintained was fine; he couldn't do a better job on the painting that had only one coat of paint and lots of drips, dribbles, and missed spots. He played this game throughout and by the time he was close to finishing he started to get really sloppy. This was due, it appears in retrospect, to take place about the same time that he got another job that he wanted to hurry up and get to before really finishing ours. I could go on and on, but I want to put this out of my mind. I was really disappointed, to say the least. He certainly seemed to have the skills but he seemed to have lost interest in doing a workmanlike job. I would not recommend Steve Reed/Quality Improvements.

WE TERMINATED OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THIS INDIVIDUAL AND ALSO FOUND OUT THAT OTHER EMPLOYEES (THE ONES THAT DID GOOD TRIM WORK) ARE NO LONGER WORKING FOR THE COMPANY. AFTER DOING STRUCTURAL WORK IN OUR HOME, WE FOUND OUT THAT THE WAY HE HAD INSTALLED A BEAM WAS NOT IDEAL, PER FRAMING INSPECTIONS. AND OUR FRAMING INSPECTION WAS DISSAPROVED. I HAVE COMMUNICATED THIS TO THE OWNER, STEVE REED, AND HE HAS ASKED US TO ASK OUR CURRENT CONTRACTOR TO TAKE CARE OF THIS. AND HE IS ALSO NOT DOING ANYTHING OR REIMBURSING US FOR HAVING DONE OUR MUDROOM FLOOR UNLEVELED.
Description of Work: As of October 2011, we no longer work with this contractor. In the past he offered fair service but our last experience with him has been dissapointing and has overshadowed any good service he may have offered us in the past.. He did our mudroom floor and left the floor unleveled by half an inch, and pitched the floor toward an inside corner of the room. If we ever have a flooding situation, we may run a high rish of water damage. We have addressed this issue and others as well, via email many times, and he's never given us an answer as to how he plans to remedy this situation. I will never recommend him again.
