"Thanks for the great review ! We look forward to seeing them again soon !"
Fabulous. I had called approx. 15-20 other groomers. This is the only one to tell me that he would service my dog while I waited. (I did not want her put into a cage while waiting to be groomed as all of the other places do.) I live in Owings Mills, MD, but the 30 minute drive to Parkton was well worth it. The place is located a very short distance from exit 27 on 83 North.
The groomer, Tom, did a perfect job and was available on time. My dog desperately needed to be groomed. Besides giving her a bath by myself, I rarely have had her groomed during her, almost, 12 years. She had matts and scraggly fur which are nowhere to be seen now.
What else is there to say?........All went very well.
I am looking forward to taking my dog back. Not only do they do a great job, they are located on beautiful grounds.
Besides grooming, I will take her back for playtime. Their prices are very reasonable which makes it easier to use their services.
I would have given them an A+, but the only option was A, B, C, etc.
We boarded our dogs with Hereford Bed and Biscuit (HBB) for the first time recently. It will also be the last time as the following explains our experience with them:
Prior to boarding (approximately a week) my 5 year old Golden Retriever had a sore place and bump on his hind leg. He had been chewing it and licking it and it was a problem that we sought help from our vet on. The vet #1 prescribed a collar to use around his neck at all times until totally healed, and prednisone.
The area was nearly totally healed when it came time to board. At drop off I instructed HBB that the collar was to be on at all times and I told them he had just finished all his Prednisone.
When I picked him up from boarding his collar was off. I ask why that was and the worker stated they had decided to remove the collar and discard it, saying it was in the way. She went on to say they had kept it off him for the entire duration of the board (5 days). I was upset about the situation. I told her it was not their prerogative to remove the collar without notifying me.
I cleaned up the area as best as possible and took my dog to the vet where we saw a partner vet #2 in the practice. She was alarmed at the appearance of the leg and I told her that despite being instructed to keep the collar on, that HBB had removed it without notifying me, or, the vet. Together, we were very displeased with HBB.
Because of having the collar off for the 5 days, the bump and sore area on the leg had to be excised and cleaned out and my dog placed on antibiotics and pain medications by vet #1.
Now, we will say it is possible I may have elected to have the bump removed at a later date had it not healed up and gone away, however it had nearly done so when I dropped him off to board, so it is unlikely that would have ever occurred. The cost for the surgery was just under $300.
We sent a letter to HBB to tell them about the poor experience we had. The owner then called vet #1 and deceived them, failing to tell them they independently decided to remove the collar. HBB failed to note that vet #2 had seen my dog prior to surgery and instead tricked vet #1 who originally saw my dog and did the surgery. They also presented themselves as currently boarding, when in fact 1.5 weeks had passed.
We would not trust Hereford Bed and Biscuit with our pets, nor would we recommend them to anyone.
"[Member Name Removed] Even though most of the information in your review is not factual, we do appreciate you taking the time to give us your opinion. We are sorry you are unhappy with our service but we did nothing wrong. We did however, give gunner special treatment and care as we would for any of our valued clients. Sincerely, Thomas Durst Owner/ President"
They did great. My dog seemed happy and he smelled great. They don't charge for the bath and nail trim and rates are very reasonable.
