I contacted UST the prior week after being referred by our home inspector and one of the oil companies I called. They scheduled a tank inspection for 7/17 at 8 a.m. My husband and I both took a few hours off from work and met our real estate agent there. No one showed. At 8:10 I called the company, where the person on the phone told me that they had forgotten about our appointment. They said they could send someone out now. I asked if they could be there and complete the test by 10:00 a.m. and they said they could. I received a call back within 15 or so minutes telling me they could not have someone out that quickly and asking to reschedule. We rescheduled for the next morning, where I waited alone for the contractor. He was about 10 minutes late, but in this area the traffic can be unexpectedly bad. He was very professional and worked quickly. He explained to me on a basic level how the testing worked and answered my questions. At the end of the inspection, he told me the outcome and that I would be emailed a report. I received an emailed report later that day, and an invoice a little over a week later. I'm sure the report is standard, but I'll be honest, it makes no sense to me. I just take them at their word that the tank does not leak. The report contains their certification information and the calibration information on their equipment.
