RUN from this company! They are the absolute worst! They sell services and do not deliver what they say they will. They make appointments and never show up. Mike Shorter, the branch manager at Owings mills, is useless when you register a complaint. He doesn’t care that they do terrible job and do not show up. Learn from my mistake and use ANYONE in maryland other than this company.

Needless to say, I will never use Terminix again after our recent experience with them. We paid over a thousand dollars for a mouse exclusion service. The technicians showed up without the site map showing all the areas that were supposed to be sealed up, they sprayed about $10 of foam in random spots (not even on holes and leaving half of it in globs in the yard!) and then were gone in 15 minutes. We had the supervisor come out to show him what a poor job they'd done and he agreed it was not done correctly. We have now been playing phone tag with different managers for TWO MONTHS waiting for our refund. Each time we're told it will be processed that week, but it isn't. I strongly recommend that you use your money elsewhere!

Last week I wasn't home when they came. I don't need to be, because they sprayed the outside. If I have any problems inside, I will let them know, and they will come spray in there.

I really haven't noticed an effect of the exclusion so I terminated it. I've not been really happy with spending $100 when I still see some pests. Termite protection is a A or B the other stuff I give them a D.

Had been customer for over 10 years. Besides routine outside work, needed help with rodent prevention and stinkbug eradication. Requested inside work. Spouse was home during the time window. Got receipt they "sprayed" on the outside. No one knocked on door despite explicit instructions. Looks like we were charged for service NOT provided. Customer service - on hold for over 20 minutes without resolution. Would only recommend to my worst enemy.

Terminex bought out a local company I was very happy with, providing quarterly pest control treatments. Now that they took over, they could not make the transition. They tried to perform another treatment less than a month after the last treatment. I told that technician it wasn't needed, called the main office after that to straighten it out again. Then a day or two later, a technician called trying to find my house. Told him not to perform the treatment. A week later, I noticed that they charged me for the treatment. I cancelled my account and will not deal with them again.

Service tech was great, company is lousy. It is impossible to get anyone at the local office. When you speak to the main office they always tell you someone from the local office will get back with you, but they never do. You can never cancel this service without threatening them. They will keep coming to your house whether you like it or not. Even worse, they will keep raising your rate every 6 months or so, and keep billing you even if you tell them not to. It's actually a pretty scary relationship.

We clearly explained verbally and showed him in writing the work needed to be done and the documentation required. The tech told us all he does is empty and re-set traps. In past visits he said he found and plugged holes to exclude rodents. Today I was told that is not part of our quarterly subscription. We asked who at Terminix could help with what we needed today. The tech said his manager was unreachable but he got a different manager on the phone who told me he said he'd see what he could do. Then the tech said he'd schedule a manager to come out tomorrow morning. After he left I called to confirm this was scheduled and learned it was not. They said a manager would telephone me within 1-2 hours. I called back after about an hour and a half because it was already 5 pm and was told the branch office was closed and that a manager would not contact me until tomorrow at the earliest. The story just keeps changing. Terminix is a large national company and I often get someone on the phone with limited capability to take care of the situation. You never get a local person when you call. They are always happy to schedule service but we are learning that what they can do during those service visits is very limited and it's just about impossible to reach someone who can help...you have to wait for that person to call you. As of end of the day the situation is not resolved.
Needles to say I'm very unhappy with the communication and the service. We'll see what happens tomorrow. If all is resolved I will be happy to report that update here.

Historically their work was good but now it is awesome. They decide when they are coming whether we are here or not. They are very in-personal with their messages. They leave voice messages that they are coming at a certain time and someone has to be there which is a never a convenient time. There is no regulation to it and being working couples it does not work. I will be terminating their service next week. I will stick with the termite service because it is a life time warranty.
