NTB-National Tire & Battery

They were prompt, courteous, and I got a good deal for the tires.

I think they have excellent customer service. They accommodated me very well, and explained everything that I needed to know. They gave me an honest assessment. They were also very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. They did not try to up sell me at all. At the end they gave me a coupon, which was refreshing that they provided this.

It was a mediocre experience. It wasn’t so much the cost because the tire was under warranty. I took the car in on Sunday and I was told I didn’t need a new tire and I needed to get my tire fixed and they fixed it. Monday, the tire was flat and it didn’t go flat in Baltimore, it went flat in DC. Twice it went flat in DC and each time I just happened to be near gasoline station and I was able to pull in and put air. So the last time I put in air, I was driving back to Baltimore and I drove straight into NTB and I said there is a problem with the tire. They gave me a new tire, I was able to buy a tire because it was under warranty but the thing is that Tuesday morning, it was snowing and when I looked at the tire, the new tire was flat. I was going to take it in on Wednesday but they said they would have to look at the rim and send the wheel itself out to some other place and I couldn’t understand why they would send it out. I was thinking they should be able to make those determinations right there because it is National. I just decided I was not going to deal with NTB. I was told that I would have to spend all day at NTB or they would put the donut on but I still didn’t get the tire back until the next day which would be today. So I just decided I was going to take it to the dealership and I did. They said there was a problem with the rim and I just bought a new rim. They said that the new tire that I had bought at NTB was still fine but the issues were because of the rim. I was in and out of the dealership instead of waiting around all day at NTB or driving around on a donut. The dealership fixed the problem within sixty five minutes so I did not understand why NTB was not able to handle it because the technology was the same. I have been going to NTB for sixteen years and I think they should have been able to see the problem.

Prices and services are good to start with and alignment package is very cost effective if you use it regularly. I give the highest marks for concessions and fair play when a brand of tires they sold and service for me fell way short of performance expectations. The manager gave me a great deal on another set of tires and an extension on the alignment package--and this was a year after I bought the original tires.
