We told them our budget was $10000./ Midway through the process we had to send them 1/2 the balance ($4250) We started this process with them in late May and hoped to have it completed in time for some guests we had arriving in late August but that did not happen. They told us we waited too long to select the sofa and chair. That was only a minor glitch as they had told us at the beginning they could not guarantee a delivery date. They finally were able to schedule a delivery date on 10 Sept. They spent 6 or 7 hours at our house hanging drapes, putting up wall art and arranging furniture and accessories (the time was prolonged as thefurniture delivery was delayed, not their fault). The room did look very nice when completed and initially we were pleased.
We gave them a check for what they said was the balance $2824 and they gave us a receipt. They did give us the invoice on the furniture pieces that were delivered. I later emailed them and asked for an invoice for everything they purchased for us and initially they refused. They said that was not their policy. The total amt of money we gave them was $8584. The painting and electrical work that had to be done ($1275) was considered part of the original budget. After several conversations both telephonic andemail, they finally sent me an invoice, it was just a list of items in a word document no copy of receipts. At this point I had become suspicious about the amount they said they paid for certain things. The only real invoices I had were from the furniture company. and the sofa they purchased was not the one I had originally selected. And it was quite inexpensive another concern as I stressed quality with them. It turns out the sofa is quite difficult to get out of for my husband who is handicapped. They knew that from the beginning. Originally they selected a chair, which they sent me a picture of and I had to remind them of my husbands disability and what they sent would not be safe for him. The media console I found online at Walmart for 1/2 the price they listed on that word document. (same brand as the one they delivered. but the walmart one had to be assembled). Some of the items that looked quite nice in the overall picture are really very cheap items which I have since removed from the room. They purchased accessories after I requested that no decorative items be purchased because I had so much already here that I wanted used.
All and all this was a very unsatisfactory experience for me. Unfortunately it was probably my fault as I did not have any knowledge how this type of project should enfold. Without a written contract I have no leg to stand on. And I am too old to have to wrangle with these people any further. The deed has been done, the money has been spent and we will have to live with what we got. I just hope people will see this review and think twice about using this company. I think their policies are very unprofessional. It is too bad because as I said, they are very nice ladies. Not sure the intent was to defraud or if their methodology was flawed. Perhaps they did not know better.

"We strive to work with every client to give a space that is not only beautiful but within the budget. This client was lovely to work with and we enjoyed pulling it together. When given choices we understand that the client does not always understand the big picture for the design. That is why they contact us. The space we went into was in desperate need of attention. We gave the clients choices for a sofa and chair that would fit into their budget. That was after our suggestion of two different chairs that would aid in helping her husband stand up from a seated position. We were told that they would rather have regular pieces instead of lift chairs. The sofa and chair we brought them was what they selected but we did get it on sale so it was less expensive than originally budgeted. Furniture that comes in unassembled is not brought to the clients house and dropped off. It has to be assembled by workers and that takes time and is included in the cost. We did give them an itemized list but we save receipts for tax purposes. As far as extras, we were conscious of using the clients already owned items. I'm not sure what she is referring to that was brought in. All I can say is we went into a filthy home that was in desperate need of help and we left a beautiful space that brought tears to the clients eyes. I feel as though we were expected to bring in high end items for a small amount of money which is absurd. Not only did we decorate the space beautifully, but we also cleaned the space from top to bottom before we decorated, which should have been done before we arrived. I'm hopeful that people visit our site to see our work and contact us if they are interested. We are always happy to offer references for people who would like to speak directly to previous clients."
