GREAT AMERICAN TREE SERVICE

Mike showed up as promised and did an amazing job.   I had used him before, a long time ago, and now I remember why I went back.   He is professional, conscientious, does fantastic work, and his cost is notably less than the competition.   Basically, this is a "neighborhood" tree company and all that is implied.   Now for the amazing part.  I had removed a bunch of leyland cypress a couple of years ago.   My son and I had worked on this forever.  That being said, we left the stumps and there were 17 of these along the fence line cut about 1-2 inches above grade.   I didn't bother calling Mike because I knew about how much it would cost to grind these...or so I thought.   I just hoped that in about another five years or so that they would rot sufficiently that we could break them up and get them below grade with an axe so that they would degrade more quickly.   The stumps were about 8-16 inches in diameter.   Even with drilling and stump killer (and epsom salt sealed in alternating holes) it was taking forever.   Anyhow, I came home and much to my surprise Mike had ground all of these roots as a courtesy service.   Really?   Who does these nice things for people anymore?  A neighborhood tree service, that's who!   Mike cleaned up perfectly and didn't disturb anything except the trees he was removing.   The dawn redwood was in a fenced back yard and they walked the pieces out of the yard. I can't begin to say how surprised I was when I got home and found the contracted work and all of the extra work completed.   I'm only sorry it took me a few weeks to write this review.   This is the company to use, and Mike is the guy to call, hands down.  Besides, he is a heck of a nice guy, easy to work with, and honest to a fault.

Perfect. On schedule, did the job, and cleaned up.

They were good. The price was good; it beat all the other prices we had. They were a little scattered about contacting us. Their communication wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't terrible. Everything else was fine. With regard to quality, they did a good job. With regard to punctuality, I don't remember exactly, but I think that they were a little bit late one day.

I first approached him a day or two after the tornado went through when he was removing major damage from my neighbor's yard. At that time he removed a couple of branches I had hauled out front with no charge. I pointed out some major damage in my back yard, and he said he would return this week, which he did. I mentioned another tree that a guy from DC who was cruising the neighborhood said I had a cracked branch. Mr. Mitchell looked it over very carefully and said there was nothing. When he returned this week I pointed out another tree that looked like it had a broken branch. This gave him the opportunity for additional work, but he and his climber said it was not broken. I found his honesty to be outstanding. HIs price was reasonable, and I will definitely use him in the future, when required, and I unhesitatingly recommend him for professional work at a reasonable price.
