Mr. Joliet was able to schedule my appointment for a week after I called, so I did not need to wait a long time for service. He arrived within the 2-hour appointment window and inspected and cleaned the stove flue. Mr. Joliet was pleasant and informative, answering my questions about the operation of the stove. Moreover, his price was $65 less than that of the first company I had scheduled with, who didn't show up on time and did not call to let me know they were going to be late. I intend to use Chimney Cricket for future servicing of my wood stove.

Excellent -  We contacted Chimney Crickets to assess our chimney and fire places and the inspection revealed no issues and we received excellent instruction on the use of our fireplaces.  We only needed one chimney swept.  We really appreciated this man's honesty, integrity, experience and skill.  We will definitely use him again.  The Chimney Sweep service industry is full of scammers who try to upsell the customer on unnecessary repairs - this gentleman was great and honest.  We highly recommend him.

The work is excellent. He took over an hour to do the job and cleaned up very thoroughly. I would highly recommend them. They are great. The price is right where it is supposed to be. I use them every year.

sweep one chimney -- came out fine

Very good. I have a wood stove fireplace insert, which is used daily during the heating season. As a result, my chimney is pretty dirty at the end of the heating season. I called him on Saturday, and he returned the call the same day. He offered me a time late Monday morning. He arrived when he said he would and was on site for a couple of hours. The chimney was clean when he left. He offers helpful advice on the wood I burn and the way I use the stove. I will use him again next year.

The appointment ran smoothly, starting when expected, finishing in a timely manner.

Mr. Joliet promptly returned my phone call; he quoted me a reasonable price and told me right away that if the chimney did not need sweeping, it would be $30 cheaper. He arrived within the time frame he promised. He was very knowledgeable and fair. He told me all about the condition of the fireplace and inspected the masonry work that had been done on the outside. He determined that sweeping was not necessary. He spent a great deal of time explaining to me the principles how the fireplace works and what would happen given the flow and structure of my house; he could tell how it had been used in the past; and he told me what to avoid in terms of the heat of the fire and size of logs to burn. He also told me about ensuring wood is dry when burned and the issues that would impact correct functioning of the fireplace. I am now very confident about using this fireplace and what to expect; being a novice, this has been a rewarding interaction. Overall, I did not expect him to take the time he did and was very impressed. No doubt he is a caring and honest person. Highly recommend.

They are good and they did a very nice job. They are actually quite good. They didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need. He was pretty through about cleaning the chimney and he gave me a very thorough description of the status about it. I have no complaints. I would recommend him.

I contacted Chimney Sweep in the morning requesting to have my chimney cleaned for the upcoming season. Greg was very professional over the telephone. He informed me that he had an opening later in the day. As I requested, he called before coming to my home. I have a very heavy wood burning stove. He pulled it out and completed the work. To both of our surprise, he found a squirrel behind the stove. There's a cap on the chimney, so it is still not clear how the squirrel got in. He removed the squirrel and proceeded with the job. He did a terrific job. He gave me a lot of information about how to burn wood, how to shop for wood etc. The job was completed in a couple of hours. I would definitely recommend this company to others and, of course, will gladly call on them again.

Greg was wonderful. As others have noted, he provided a wealth of information, including a list of suggested repairs/maintenance (which he does not do, so this definitely is not a case of someone identifying a host of false problems just to get more business). He was prompt, friendly (both on the phone and in person) and responsive. We will definitely use him again.

I was very pleased with the service. This was the first time that the chimney had been cleaned. Greg was very patient in answering all my questions in terms that I could understand. He took the time to let me practice how to open and close the damper correctly so I don't dislodge it again.

He showed up on time (even though it was raining). He did a quick inspection from inside and was a wealth of information about how to properly maintain my fireplace and how to have a good fire. He worked quickly and cleanly. He even brought his own hand towel to wash up afterwards. He also inspected the chimney from the top. I'm very pleased with the work and the advice.

I called three chimney sweeps for quotes, and Chimney Cricket was about $30 less than the other 2. We made an appointment for Saturday morning, and he showed up right on time, got right to work, and was meticulous about cleaning up after himself. The work was excellent, and Greg was very professional. The price was exactly what he quoted. I believe he's a one-man shop, so I think Greg the one who will do the work, and I recommend him highly. I will definitely call him back in the future. (I was disappointed that he wasn't wearing a chimney sweep hat like Dick Van Dyke's in Mary Poppins - but you can't have everything.
