"Mr [Member Name Removed] Firstly, you didn’t contract us. Ms Lisa Wang did. We gave a honest diagnosis of system with multiple issues and a short to the ground. The hvac was hardly maintained since it was installed over 8 years ago. Ms Wang wanted a guarantee that repair will hold. Given poor state of the hvac system, we couldn’t. Other improper install practices were noted as well. She wanted full diagnostics report and a proposal to replace. We took a diagnostic fee which is to go towards repairs or replacement cost. Everything was explained upfront. She stood with our technician and was within two feet of him the entire way. You found someone else to do the work and wanted a refund of diagnostic fee which we earned. We wish we could guarantee the unknown, but no reasonable person would. Your account of events is wildly inaccurate. We are a honest and transparent company. We wish you the best."

"Thank you for providing your feedback Mr. [Member Name Removed] S. Our motto at JDL HVAC services is that "WE CARE" because customer service is paramount to our goal of creating lifetime customers who trust our company, the quality of work we provide, and the reliability of our service. To answer your initial complaint we would like to make it very clear that the SAFETY AND COMFORT of our customers is more important than "Upselling" and we have an untarnished reputation for the safety standards and policies that we uphold. You only need to scroll down through the numerous reviews below yours to find proof that we do in fact complete both simple and complex repairs for our customers whenever we are able rather than needlessly offering a full system replacement. That being said, it is unfortunate that you did not allow us the opportunity to help you better understand the diagnosis given by our Boiler Specialist and expert technician Armando. Or perhaps Mr. [Member Name Removed] S. you understood the diagnosis all too well? To start, the previous technician that installed your boiler did so incorrectly and that was immediately evident to our technician. Your pressure relief valve is missing completely, and whoever installed this unit bypassed the safety on the pressure switch to allow for this unit to be operational when in actuality it should not be operated at all. Once safety’s on a unit have been bypassed they cannot be reset. The manufacturers put these safety’s in place to stop your unit from being operated when there are part failures within your system. When you bypass that, you are allowing further damage to the unit and jeopardizing the safety of your family as well as any that live nearby you. In your case, bypassing the pressure switch allows water pressure to build in your boiler which will eventually lead to busted pipes and other damage. Armando did look into attempting a repair of your unit, even after finding that in addition your control board was completely corroded and would also need to be replaced. You gave our technician a manufacturers part catalogue for your unit which he reviewed and informed you that it stated the control board needed was no longer available from the manufacturer. THERE WAS NO OTHER SAFE OPTION TO PROVIDE OTHER THAN TO REPLACE THE UNIT. So yes Mr. [Member Name Removed] S., you were able to reattach a wire to a corroded control board and bypass another safety so that your boiler would continue to operate. However the question here is SHOULD you have reconnected that wire? Did you make your decision based on the safety of yourself and your property, or just to save money regardless of prudent advice? We truly wish you the best and pray you do work with another HVAC company to have your unit replaced so you do not incur any damage to yourself or your property."
