1st Choice Team

"1st Choice" has been extremely disappointing since I unfortunately chose them as a property manager April, 2012. They came highly recommended and talk the talk, but service went downhill fast. Among things that infuriated me: (1) unannounced fees such as "cleaning fees," which they supposedly charge everyone (despite having already had my property cleaned before assigning them as property managers) but didn't tell me and deducted from our fourth month deposit - instead of addressing up front - $200, (2) "plumbing fees" for a warranty plumbing repair, over $500, were deducted from my account without consent or notice, to repair an issue which had been previously worked on and was under warranty, (3) extremely poor communication - good luck getting a prompt or understandable e-mail response, and even more luck needed to get a friendly person on the phone, (4) deposits to my account have been different almost every month. Whoever is doing their numbers doesn't understand numbers let alone accounting. If you have expectations about rent deposits, you will be shocked. Worst of all, Mary @ 1st Choice thinks she is the greatest property manager ever, and even after admitting she took an unauthorized withdrawal from my checking account she sent me an e-mail - a few days later of course - telling me just how good she is at her job. Just wow. Possibly the worst "professional" experience of my life.
